You believe Kyle can still improve? I honestly don't. Might improve his form but not his ability to defend or stop making silly mistakes which he's been doing since HR days.
After seeing Rose's improvement this season, I absolutely believe he can get better.

It really only is a matter of time with him isn't it. Next season will be his last here imo.

There's few more satisfying things in football than signing a solid player for a bargain price.

Paint me completelyunfuckingsurprised that this news means that Yedlin is taking another step towards becoming the Yankee version of Bongani Khumalo. What a pointless signing [Yedlin, not Trippier].

Give him time...when you've got pace like he has there is always a chance. He impressed in a world cup, he's not a chump. I think he could surprise us.

Pretty much my exact sentiments about Walker. Kind of amusing that we have nearly exactly equal and opposite views about Kyle and DeAndre. :playful:

I don't think necessarily so, Yedlin's still rather young and has only been in England half a season, maybe the coaches just feel he needs time to adjust to English football and needs a loan. Meanwhile, we're trying to push for top four and winning a European competition, so we'll need a quality squad and don't have time to wait for Yedlin.

Well, it's not going to be the first time you've been wrong about our full-backs.

:finger:

:joyful:
:cautious:...xxxx.

Anyway, happy to be wrong if they end up tearing it up for us.

Still think Rose has a ways to go though, he needs to improve his decision making, timing of overlaps, reading of the game and his deliveries into the box need to be more consistent.

He should aim to be getting a few goals each season as well. He's shown he's capable when he pushes on and joins in.

I think we'll be waiting as long as we did with Falque, Ceballos et al. And with the same end result.

This is like the Stambouli stuff from last season. Completely outta nowhere.

Out of nowhere, but very early. Hopefully that suggests that (unlike Stambouli) this is a first choice signing, and one that Poch specifically asked for (or at least approved).

Mitchell would have worked his statistical alchemy and pushed this one in poch's face and I'm sure poch was impressed with players from both Burnley and Leicester when we played them, so pretty certain this is a poch call, ultimately.

Also young and cheap, so suits Levy.

Only party who's left out is Baldini. No schmoozing required.

We are truly sticking our hand in the bargain bin if signing Trippier is true.

But look who we've signed since Poch has arrived - Davies (average), Vorm (average), Fazio (average to poor, has had some good games but has serious limitations) and Stambouli (seems to be a knockoff midfielder). I suppose the trend of austerity will continue.

We're making the signings of an 8th placed side, not the ones that would get us over the hump to CL football.

I was just thinking we really need more right backs, because we only have walker, Fredrics, Yederlin, Dier (who I think has played very well there) and Kyle Walker Peters in a couple of year time who is an outstanding prospect. I know walkers not had the best of seasons but I am sure he will be back on song next year.

I half understand your pessimism but a right back that created 38 chances for Burnley, more than our 'No.10' and watching Kane's goal yesterday I do not see why there wouldn't be interest in Trippier.

The fact Eric Dier, a centre half, is our best crosser of ball I cannot imagine why Trippier at £3.5m appeals!

We've played a large number of players out of position to cover Walker in his absence so this potentially seems very sensible even if it is not hugely exciting on the face of it.

Is that why Liverpool wanted to sign him? I bet you haven't even watched him play.
