But.. Flat racing is just the same as jumps racing... But without the jumps!

Haha I much prefer flat racing! I went to Cheltenham this year and enjoyed it but it's nothing on Ascot for me.

Last time I went to Ascot most of the people I went with sat on a grass bank near a bar and the tote and didn't even watch the racing. One even bragged to me that he hadn't seen a single horse all day.

SWMBO panicked when we had three winners in the first four races and wouldn't let me bet again. Good job as I picked two second placed horses.

Winnings paid for the trip and a Chinese meal when we got back home.

How did you get on Houds? Still recovering? Glad the weather was decent for the most part for you.

It was brilliant, we had a great time, came away winning just over 140euros thanks to a ,12/1 winner.
Lovely people at the track and fine weather. We went to the Break for the Border (bar) to watch CL Final lovely burgers in there and then ended up in someplace called Copper Face Jacks... Went Karting over by the airport.. That was mental in the rain. Most thought we were going to the Eire/England game and got a few dumb comments from the fuckwits I reckon it was because of some of the other guys accents being London & English. Still, we had a great time and I could hardly believe how much the place has changed.

Coppers is mental. Probably the best place you could have gone to for a good laugh though.

Glad to hear you had good time though. Shame a few knobs still have issues with things from decades ago.

O'Sheas Merchant was doing a very good breakfast, just ignore the fact that the place looks like it's about to fall down. :)
