I actually posted this in the stadium thread but I'll stick it here as it's relevant to this.
There's chat over on COYS that we might get pictures of the new stadium design next week. Maybe as early as Tuesday. Would tie in with this I suppose as photos could be shown at the same time as the announcement.

Retractable pitch, more money, and a much better chance of attracting a big name sponsor for the stadium.

I am going to go out on a limb and say the NFL partnership will not be a big hit with supporters in the long-run.
My guess is that putting an NFL field inside a football stadium is going to keep fans further from the pitch, and make the atmosphere much more sterile, and make the stadium feel more generic.
Good for the bottom line though I suppose.

If it slides out like the FC Schalke 04 pitch it won't make any difference to how far away the stands are from the pitch.
