We have not signed big name players...like some of our competitors.
But, this summer break has been great for us in terms of general positivity around the club

New NFL deal & proposal to council for increased capacity & plan changes
Most likely keep our 3 best players - Kane, Lloris & Eriksen
Sell 2 deadwoods 15m and save their 10m wages
Refreshing attitude towards transfer dealing - incoming as well as outgoings
Buy players who we actually need like in defense
Player like Alderweireld (hopefully happens) who will straight away come in XI & improve it
Then there is tale of two cabbages - not sure TA is one

@paddyj2 great team players and all suit Pochs style of football.no top superstars but still quality as we are building a team.

That's also what we did last season and i'm sure we all saw the benefit in our defensive perfor-oh. :unsure:

I do rate Clasie and think he will be at a bigger club eventually, so I'm hoping JJ is alluding to someone even better.

But we never got any first XI defenders, did we ? I am more confident of players this time around

I don't think it will negatively effect us between now and then. We have made a profit in pretty much every transfer window for the last 4 years and I doubt Levy will build a stadium that requires income from transfers, so it will be business as usual until it's paid off and then we will reap the benefits.

That's what I meant. If we aren't going after Clasie (who I think is a very good player) because he's not good enough to get us into the top four, then we obviously have a better player in mind.

Whether I think we'd actually get that target is another question
