Napoli have made enquiries regarding Chiriches now according to several sites on Newsnow which could force a permanent move maybe? They enquired about Dier initially...apparently.

Think it's fair to say that this isn't or wasn't as close as it seemed. Seemingly imminent for about 5 days

That makes me much happier, thanks Trix. Don't want to hassle but do you expect he will make his decision and it will be resolved soon?

Edit: just realised thatprobably only Vlad himself knows the answer to this so feel free to ignore

Sounds good. If we can get a fee of about £5 million for him then we will have done well. I've no doubt though that he will do well somewhere but on occasion last season (west brom at home) he was awful. That was one of the worst central defending performances I've seen by a spurs player and my god we've had a few in the last 27 years of me watching the club!

It might be time to slow our roll on the rumors linking Vlad Chiriches to Fiorentina. In a recent interview with Sky Italia, as reported in Football-Italia.net, La Viola Sporting Director Daniele Prade put the kibosh on what had looked to be a solid rumor linking the Romanian central defender to Fiorentina.

"Chiriches? He is not a player we are tracking. The market is long, we know Paulo Sousa's ideas and are confident we can build a good team. We know that we need a defender and a midfielder."

Making these comments make sense when you take into account that Napoli has apparently swooped in. Probably trying to save face a bit.

How long till Vlads agent puts his foot in it and talks of a stepping stone to one of the Milan teams? Last one worked out well didn't it.

Glad he's going - an accident always waiting to happen.

He will be a decent player in Italy. Pretty sure if we sell for €6m we have taken a hit on him. Never mind.
