Back when I had access to COYS, they had the guy who did the Spurs attributes and he said that the FM powers that be will take what a scout puts for players and then tweak those figures based on a club's stature - making their use for pure scouting crazy. Of course if you used their DB as part of a larger scouting system you would get better results, but any comparisons between players is fundamentally flawed if you're only using the FM ratings.

Storts does the spurs players for FM (well, he did last season and had to really push for increases in ability for mason and Kane when they people running the game didn't want them). He doesn't seem to post much on coys nowadays.

Everton have been using SI's database since 2008. I assume this is just the raw data rather than the tweaked final product.

I would assume so also. I imagine they just use it to provide a list of future talents that they can then go on and scout in more detail.

BBC have had a picture of Harry Kane on their live transfer news updates page every day this week so far. Desperate much?

I've noticed this today and it's really pissing me off. They had a different one earlier but now have one of him warming up at Old Trafford where he is conveniently stood in front of a load of Man U branding. Knobs.

It's a joke isn't it - maybe we should just give in to the press and disband the league apart from the 'big five' teams and see how that goes..

Thought the worst when I logged on and saw that. Twats. How dare their beloved Utd not be able to sign whoever they want.

They do it purely for clicks and traffic.

Can't quite get my head around the fact that Villa are close to signing Traore from Barca. How? And why aren't we on that?

Odd.

Thought this earlier, awesome potential, yet Villa are in pole position, doesn't make sense.

Some really oddly good signings this summer, by massively average teams. No idea what's going on to be honest. People keep saying money, but that seems too simple.

I remember AVB watching him and being very complimentary while he was manager. If he was somehow still manager, I wouldn't have been surprised if we tried to sign him.

But he'll walk right into their 11 too and be making a lot more money.
LVG plays his favorites. He wont drop Young. He wont drop Depay. Hell, he'll even find a way to get Fellaini in there when he gets back from his ban as you know he cant resist his favorite tactic.

Indeed, it's so that good players at lower rated clubs stay at their clubs instead of being hoovered up in the first season. If you have a player that is rated to become the next Ronaldo but he's at, say, Bournemouth, then it's likely that clubs like Man Utd, Man City, Bayern, Barcelona, PSG even, will come in for him straight away. Strange to see in the game, and spoils the user experience - although does happen occasionally in real life, Dale Jennings went from Tranmere to Bayern II. Jack Harper just left Real Madrid B to go to Brighton.

In my game, I used to get offers from PSG and Monaco for Andros and Danny Rose. Er..

Then you have players who have unset potentials where it's not a fixed number but instead places a player into a range. Kane may be a -9 player (-10 being the highest group), so his potential could have a 20-30 point difference from game to game.

Good to see who is highly rated and investigate further but not so good to see who is nailed on to become a star, and it's foolish for SSN to use it in their analysis. Not that anyone should be surprised. It's quite a coup for Sports Interactive to be featured though, they should be happy about that.
