Some quotes:

"The ease with which he went past defenders was superb to watch "
"Love him. He's clearly been told to showcase his skills, cheeky as [CENSORED]"
"Certainly got the flash. Had a few nice pieces of play and a few where he could have done better. Too early to judge, let's not get carried away."
"Absolutely brilliant to see such confidence and flair. We are going to be treated to some fantastic pieces of skill from him this season. Can't wait till we pump hibs next weekend."
"Guys just put another 10000 season tickets in the ground"
"Not sure about him. Talented and skilful no doubt. I feel like he plays like an individual, and we're developing into a good team without many standouts."
"In terms of oduwa, hes only been here a day or two so will not be fully dialed in to what the manager expects from him. I'm sure we will send plenty of flair and dribbling skills but as long as he's doing them at the right times and in the right areas everyone will be happy. He's shown more in 15 mins than Templeton has in 15 months."
"Convinced he was connected to a [CENSORED] ps4 controller today and some [CENSORED] was doing fifa skills with him"
"He runs at defenders with a lot of pace and power, can see this lad being a [CENSORED] hero by the end of the season. He is going to absolutely torture some of the mediocre defenders in this league"

From the same forum.

"one point he chased the full back to our corner flag almost and won a free kick so he knows about working hard i'd say"

"Hope so. He worked hard, not disputing it. Just hope his priority is the team, and not himself."

"I was laughing at the 5 million valuation . Similar to Zaha but 4 years younger, £10 million minimum."

He didn't start, he was a sub. FYI he has started for Luton before.

Thanks, I wasn't aware about Luton, but I meant Started laying rather than from start. Eaither way, it's crazy to see these values being thrown around.

Rangers are my Scottish team (I live in Glasgow) so hopefully I'll see a lot of these guys over the season.

Good start for Oduwa yesterday, and the fans are taking to him well but already he's experiencing the stupidity of the Scottish press - back page headline of at least one paper featuring an Alloa player accusing him of disrespect for trying a trick!

Oduwa came on yesterday for Rangers (my Scottish Team) - looked as if he was trying too hard at the start but settled well and showed some great skill - looking forward to seeing him get a full 90 mins.

I'm just glad that he is showing his confidence. When he returned from injury last year, I other than the West Ham match he looked like he had lost a bit of confidence due to his injury and wasn't taking on people as much. Come preseason he had seemed back to his old self. There were reports that he was a bit tentative against Everton u21s after being Ko'd at Stevenage, but he seems to have put that behind him. Really pleased he is back can't wait to see him perform more regularly. Rangers fans will really enjoy him.

He must have dreamed as a kid, of doing the rainbow flick on TV haha and he didn't hesitate at first opporunity. He has a lot more tricks in his locker. What I really liked is in the video, when they showed the replay, you could see the whole crowd get up and smile and start applauding. That is what football is about. He has more to his game than that though so will look forward to him showing it

There's video going about, I think the Fulham game where Roberts scored a hatrick against us where he flick flacks and nutmegs the defender, the boy's got skills, really hope he can make it for us, will be so fun to watch

Edit : His skill needs to be married to end product, which he does seem to have

I want him back already!! How long is it since we had someone with the bollocks to use their skills? Or even anyone who had that sort of skill? We need some entertainment like that, football to make you smile. Let's hope he does well at Rangers and comes back full of confidence for us next year.

I just want him to be like Georgie Best. I remember one game when Bestie was playing against Soton when the LB went in full-blooded, but somehow Best evaded the kick on the shin but fell down drawing a free-kick. Best waved the LB towards him and feigned to kick the ball at him, causing the LB to turn his face. The whole ground laughed at that cheekiness.

You can't blame players showing off if they're good enough. As regards Hamilton, instead of blaming your opponent for show-boating, just blame yourself for not being in the same league as far as skill is concerned.

written by a Dane, but oh it fits both the rest of Scandinavia and parts of the British Isles as well. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_of_Jante

  1. You're not to think you are anything special.
  2. You're not to think you are as good as we are.
  3. You're not to think you are smarter than we are.
  4. You're not to convince yourself that you are better than we are.
  5. You're not to think you know more than we do.
  6. You're not to think you are more important than we are.
  7. You're not to think you are good at anything.
  8. You're not to laugh at us.
  9. You're not to think anyone cares about you.
  10. You're not to think you can teach us anything.
These ten principles or commandments are often claimed to form the "Jante's Shield" of the Scandinavian people.

In the book, the Janters who transgress this unwritten 'law' are regarded with suspicion and some hostility, as it goes against the town's communal desire to preserve harmony, social stability and uniformity.

An eleventh rule recognised in the novel as 'the penal code of Jante' is:

  1. Perhaps you don't think we know a few things about you?

I haven't seen the video in question going around, but I have seen the video before in the FAYC where he ran straight through their defense and scored.

I remember a game against Japan or Vietnam u17s where he had the ball on the left wing backing into a player, another player came to tackle him so he tried to roll the ball through his legs it bounced off his leg and he managed to turn the player and get away, running to the box he did some stepovers completely fooled the guy and smashed the ball in. We don't have many players as it is that can be surrounded by two players at the halfway line and end up scoring. I also remember him completely destroying USA u16/17s and getting their RB sent off. Also last year against West Ham u21s he was by the corner flag surrounded by 3 players and pulled off a ridiculous skill and Houdini'd his way out of there, it was like Bolasie against us. Let's hope he continues to develop.

Quite an impression after a 15 minute cameo, I bet the Rangers fans will be excited to see more Off Oduwa after that. And there's no way that game would have got as much press coverage if it wasn't for him.

What's more interesting I think is that now he will be a marked man when he comes on for his next cameo, the defenders will either stand off him as they don't want to get done by some skill or they'll just try and clatter him. Hopefully he continues to show that confidence and tries to beat players as that's his game and what I like most about him.
