I don't know why people expect him to brilliant straight away, last season was his first full season at Lyon. It's going to take time for him to get used to the premier league especially if he is limited to sub apperances.
I get what you are saying but he was comically bad at times yesterday. He couldn't do basic passes and his passes were often behind the player slowing down play in the process

IMO he is like a young Walcott, who struggled to do the basic stuff when he had players in front of him but when he played rw and had the ball in front of him with space and at speed he was very dangerous. BTW I think Walcott is very good now and think N'Jie has similar potential

The bits I saw of him at lyon he played on the RW and was hurting teams by attacking the channels

The role he is being told to play for us is different and imo I always believed we signed the wrong guy but I don't think we would of forked out for Fekir who could a number of roles we seem to ask Clinton to do

He was probably just nervous and eager to impress.

For a young player who doesn't have much experience in top flight football coming into a game of this magnitude, and all the hype that surrounded it, I thought he did relatively well.

He made a few basic mistakes but he also did some good things too - that shouldn't be ignored.

Overall he did quite well IMO.

I'm a bit worried for N'jie. Looks a bit lost and lacking confidence. Not too sure why Poch subbed him to be honest, seemed to be involved a bit and his pace would have been an option late on.

I guess it's because he was on a yellow and starting to get a bit lost in the heat of the game. Couldn't afford to go a man down. Otherwise, I would've preferred to see him shifted out wide with Townsend making way. Thought Clinton had been doing a better job and he's more likely to make that burst beyond Kane.

Because he was about to get sent off

I thought he did good today.. getting to know the mates better from the passes and looked sharper.. balancing was great, not falling over much on knocks, hence he doesn't look short of confidence to me at all.. given the chances, he can still shoot well..

Thought he had a decent game to be fair. I like the look of him. Touch better than I thought it was going to be. Looks a bit rusty, but as expected with new team and coming back from injury and others have said only played one full season beforehand.

Has a decent shot on him too. When he was put through he touched the ball with his right sending him back when he should have let it run to his left taken a touch and hit t across goal. Happy to see this guy play quite a bit

Think he was decent enough today. He actually tries to get in behind the defence, which is refreshing.

In his limited appearances this season he has looked good I think. His ball control is decent and his speed is a real asset. His passing leaves a bit to be desired but that counts for the whole team since Pochettino took over.

I agree. Once he has adapted more I think he will be a very useful player for us.

Is that Future in your avatar btw?

Their sub last night was what I was expecting from N'Jie, maybe I was niave but going by the electric pace everyone seemed to mention. He hasn't looked any quicker than townsend for example.

The kid they brought on was absolutely rapid (helped by the fact trippier runs through treacle) but that's the kind of pace (in a straight line rather than inverted ) that scares teams

To be fair he had an as impressive sub appearance against City.

Watching him is, umm, interesting. Technically he isn't too bad but needs to make his mind up a bit quicker. I like that he seems enthusiastic and does his shift in chasing down the opposition, but at the same time he seems to gives up incredibly quickly and is almost too 'nice'. Both games this week I have noticed that if he has caught someone he immediately stops to apologise and makes it an easy decision to give. Poch and co. need to tell him to keep going!

Making sub appearances seems to be the best use for him currently. Short, sharp bursts and have him playing against tired opposition and when the game is a bit more open.
