Taylor Twellman saying he played poorly is all the proof you need to know he played well. Twellman is a Grade A shitsipper.

Hahaha. If Yedlin put in that performace in MLS, the US pundits would be raving about how amazing it was. It was very good performance, IMO. Could always be better but I wouldnt listen to a word Twellman says regarding players performances. Guys only good when it comes to inside type info.

Some of the comments are good. I chuckled at the "like PVA but better positional sense" comment. Soooo Yedlin's better than him, yeah? Off the back of 4 PL games and knowing he can only improve his defense which is a massive question mark for him, I think I'll take it. Hopefully Big Sam can continue his development and really improves him.

currently looking lost being asked to play as a wing back, doesn't seem to really know what his job's supposed to be.

Its just good he is getting game time, that will help him improve no end.

If its in an improving team, even better.

He was poor, Big Sam with all his wisdom decided to play 3 centre halves and wing backs, but the CB's didn't look like they had a clue how to play the system and the space between the LCB/RCB and the wingbacks was crazy at times and lead to at least 2 goals (mainly the LWB side)

He was subbed after 64 minutes as he had made a couple of poor passes and some bad positioning for a goal.

Playing RB in the first WC qualifier right now for the US. Obviously a shit opponent but he assisted the equalizer with a cross at the by line

Nothing revolutionary but I quite liked:

"Spurs coaches have kept in touch with him, and he’s looking forward to playing the rest of the season with Sunderland, then returning to Spurs and competing for a spot in the team"
If he continues to improve defensively at Sunderland, he might well compete for a place here. Think it was a good strategic loan for him too as at Sunderland, he would be mainly focusing on his defense without going forward too often. The club knows he's good enough going forward in the attack but his defense isnt up to standard. Going on loan to a club where he's forced to be defensive and work hard at it is good for his development in that area as long as he gets games. There might be hope for the boy at Spurs after all.

Not playing tonight, although big Sam has gone with 3 CB's and last time he did that Yedlin was pants at RWB. But none of the defence looked like they had a clue how to play the system (fared much better playing it tonight)

subbed off after 20 minutes today and not because of injury

To be fair it was partly a tactical sub as Watford ruthlessly exploited Sunderland's weakness in wide areas and Yedlin was left exposed as they doubled up on him.

Hopefully he'll have more chances to show what he can do. I don't see a career at Spurs for him personally but it'd be great if he can have a career somewhere in England.

It was a tactical sub, they decided to shift from 3 CBs to a more standard 2 CBs. Billy Jones was on as one of the CBs and he can play RB pretty well, so they left him out there. If someone like Vertonghen had been out there as one of the left sided CBs, it could just have well been van Aanholt subbed off and Vertonghen going to LB. Sam is obviously a very defensive manager and will always prefer the defensively solid fullback to the mainly attacking one.
