watched a bit of the second half.

Ball looked good from the little i saw of him, and didnt see much of Oduwa before he was taken off shortly into the second half

Oduwa's just scored his first goal for Rangers. Ball was crossed he ran into the box and slotted home. I think he scored it anyway, he celebrated.

Ball seems to be playing every match atm and doing well. I'll tell you what while I didn't think he maybe had a future with us due to CCV and Veljkovic, I would definitely be happy to see him be a backup DM or CB for us. Seeing as he used to be a DM anyway has the skill for it.

Perhaps he could be the rotation option with Dier from next year. Seems to have a fairly similar skill set/presence.

About time he scored, all well and good people saying the level is too easy for him. Well if that's the case he should be scoring more often than he has. Hopefully he can go on a little scoring run now, I don't think he started yesterday.

Warburton has been linked with the Fulham job.

Oduwa and Ball start on BT Sport 1 now

EDIT - Ball is on bench, misread THFCacademy tweet, spent the last 16mins trying to find him on pitch before checking tweet again

Oduwa off after 65 mins with Rangers 2-1 down. Not the best of games for him but did provide the cross for Rangers goal in the first half but overall a disappointing game for him.

Definitely struggling at the moment, considering how well he started off, but as the article above says he will have peaks and troughs. It is how he comes back from this poor from at the moment. Will go a long way to making him as a player.

Commentator made a good point, he needs to decide sooner whether he wants to take someone on or not. The time he takes to decide slows down play. Something he can improve and I'm sure Warburton will talk to him and he needs to learn how to being double marked at some points. Once he masters that already at this age it will really help improve his game

Well, if Warburton doesn't, hopefully, our staff will in their meetings.

I'm wondering if the rough treatment he's received is playing on his mind a bit now. He's been on the rough end of some real bad challenges.

Article on 2nd assists and how undervalued Oduwa is http://therangersreport.com/2015/12...ndervalued-nathan-oduwa-has-been-for-rangers/

Tbf I can see this, shows how crucial he has been and maybe more highlights his all round play that doesn't get the acknowledgement it deserves. Though he has been off form recently. He is still very good at linking up play and picking passes but due to his rep and maybe in his eyes also if he isn't beating people and showing flair it looks like he isn't playing well and may affect his confidence. I wonder if he sees or knows this he may remember what he is doing well and keep at it which will help bring his confidence. Making him more rounded

Good article - thanks for posting

A bit worrying that Oduwa was on the bench yesterday and Ball not in the squad (injured).

Hope both get back in the starting X1, as otherwise we'd need to consider their position - I'm not sure about the rules when the loanees are at a club affiliated to SFA, hope its not counted as a 'foreign loan' where it gets difficult to recall (as Mason found at Lorient)

I'd bet Ball was injured he has been starting quite a few games recently be weird just to completely be removed from squad. Shame Oduwa didn't get on. I wonder if we will have a rethink, I'm more concerned for Oduwa than Ball. Could bring Oduwa back or let him stay and go through this patch to toughen him up so to speak

I wonder with both whether they've learned as much as they are going to at Rangers - playing in a first team and in front of big crowds, but what they are neither getting is playing with and against a good quality player.

I worry as well about Oduwa being targeted as much as he has been - it seems to be much worse in SFA than it would be at (say) Millwall or other traditionally 'rough' Championship side, so whilst handling rough tactics is part of the education a loan gives, it may be better to bring him to an environment where its physical but not 'common assault' territory.

Whilst I'd love to see him back at Spurs I'm not sure how much playing time Oduwa would get - and given Wimmer's lack of playing time, the same would apply for Ball. although arguably he could be the Dier alternative (and indeed no 3 RB)
