If he does go, hopefully we can replace him with somebody in the present setup. Keep things running smoothly...

often thought that chris ramsey should be brought back into the youth development programme.
that's where he excels and was a huge success with us.

Tbf our academy is only paying dividends due to Sherwood & Ramsey.

Kane, Bentaleb, Carroll & Mason all developed under them

KWP, CCV & Onomah all started under them with sherwood actively the biggest influence in getting them into our academy.

Bentaleb for sure was Sherwood's doing but the rest was no more down to those 2 than anyother coaches at the club.

Freund essentially does the same as Sherwood, in terms of bringing in young players to the club and from what I hear he's doing a good job, certainly much better than he did as assistant manager. Sherwood served us well but he really wasn't that important compared to the work McDermott has done. It was the same with Inglethorpe, a very replaceable coach. I don't have any idea whether it would be difficult to replace McDermott but from an outsider's perspective, I do hope he stays given the success he's overseen throughout the academy.

I don't think his directly responsible I think there mums and dads where that cold night, then the scouting network and a hell of a lot of coaches but yes he has helped

I think that poch is pretty safe ATM it would take more than a string of bad results and I don't think he is easily replaceable how many good managerial appointments has levy made ? 2 rednapp and poch, Jol was because he sacked Santini and not directly chosen. So
I hope he backs this one as his track records poor.

It's hard to gauge his importance but Bentalab and mason seem to rate him, he has only been at spurs since. 2009 I think. If he was to go would anyone think about trying to get back frank ? I think john is replaceable as it's a very sort after job but I think our academy needs as much stability as pos ATM.

He's been at the club since 2005 so came in around the time Arnesen left. A lot players have come through in his time.

Does this author have any history of being correct?

Sam Wallace is pretty good. Has decent contacts at Utd, used to do the Manchester beat for the Telegraph before he went to the Independent, although it doesn't suggest anything has happened. It's just a name, and why wouldn't he be in the mix, so could be pure guesswork

Woodward is an unimaginative ****, so I can imagine him thinking the quick United fix is to steal what works at Spurs.

Hope his lack of vision means any Spurs targets (players and staff) aren't tempted by him wafting his filthy lucre around.

I suppose McDermott may feel he's achieved everything he set out to at us - or needs a new challenge - but I'm not convinced.

P.s. As usual, I'm hating how presumptive all the talk is. "United will appoint..." etc...

Tim deserves very little credit for the way anyone developed at youth level. He did next to nothing as far as the day to day coaching was concerned, and only usually managed to find his way onto the touchline when we were playing in what I like to call the "spotlight tournaments".

Not even remotely surprised to see this link. United have realized a) with the current cash flux into Prem sides, they can longer buy the players they want willy nilly; b) their extravagant purchases on random foreign players and asking them to create a unified team has failed, just as it has for the other clubs who have tried it in recent years, including us; and c) they must return to a strong pipeline from their academy to first team if they're to regain even a semblance of their position in Europe any time soon. Hence, I'm not at all surprised to see them try to take our pipeline layer given the success of our own.

It's sickeningly frustrating just how much that club believes all boots in England point to them, almost like a divine right status, and consequently what they'll do to other clubs to maintain that status. I so very much hope that this doesn't happen, and that McDermott remains with a system which clearly cherishes his work.

He's also Tim Sherwood's mate so would probably do all he can to piss on our chips!

Please don't take offence but it's hard to know sometimes what's your opinion and what's fact :) you clearly have links but as I don't know what they are so sometimes I am not sure if it's your opinion or has truth behind it from sources with in the club you could be Levys son Josh for all I know.

Do you have any idea if john mc is firmly staying and if it's just speculation?

In this case it is very much educated opinion, but then in all fairness the educated part comes from people that don't like Tim very much, It's basically relaying/condensing stuff they have said multiple times regarding him.

If it is ITK I do try to say as much, ie I have heard/have been told etc. AT the same time if it is nothing more than my opinion, again I do usually say so as well I know there is a rule on here regarding asking those classed as ITK questions and I can very much understand why, but I have no issue whatsoever with posting clarification on a previous post if it is not obvious one way or the other. I'm sure that wouldn't be breaking any rules for me to just say it is either opinion or something I have heard if it is unclear.

As for John, I have no idea what the situation is I'm afraid.
