Can't believe I'm about to write this, but I think it's a fair comment.

His explanation is quite reasonable:

"By that I mean they don't have players who have experienced success in a league of this quality.

"They are a young side with a lot of talent, but they might lack a player who has 'been there, done that', the sort of player who will keep everyone calm, focused and believing that anything is possible."

It's something I and others have commented on before, so I'm not about to call him out on it just because it's him.

However, I do think it can work the other way, in that a young side might make up for their lack of experience by being full of confidence and greater team spirit. As Alderweireld said recently, we're not a team of 'heroes', and that's no bad thing.

I care less about what he has to say than just about any other human on the face of the planet. Donald Trump runs him quite close though.

He's an utter bell-end but hasn't said anything particularly objectionable in that article (for once). In fact he is rather complimentary about the team.

Well okay, they're not the same quality as the premiership but Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Eriksen and Lloris all have experience of winning titles. Even Chadli has won one actually.

Lloris didnt win a title, I only found the other day but Lyon won 7 titles in a row and then Lloris joined and they haven't won one since

Tottenham's lack of "winners in their team" could cost them the chance of landing the Barclays Premier League title this season, according to former captain Sol Campbell.
Spurs moved above north London rivals Arsenal into third place following an impressive 3-0 win at Norwich on Tuesday night...
...He went on to say that everyone hates him because he's black and he's gay not that he would be because that's disgusting, but that's why everyone hates him anyway and he's serious intellectual and could be a film star or politician or England captain to this day if he wasn't black.

Yeah this was going to be my point.

I don't think he's wrong about our lack of 'winners' but the only team in the title race that has that is City, and even they have faltered plenty a long the way.

Ultimately it will come down to talent rather than who has 'experience of winning'.

Plus, and I don't wish to necessarily drag this whole issue up again, he is a total ****-splash

He has a right to say that, it may even be valid but on a fundamental level he's not a very intelligent man, you can see that whenever you hear him talk about anything be it football or politics. He struggles to see the big picture beyond the individual.

So don't worry about what he says, it really doesn't matter.

It's just his version of the "you don't win anything anything with kids" argument.

I hope it comes back to haunt him in the same way as it did for Alan Hansen. :)

Arsenal have Cech, Mertesacker, Flamini, Ozlil, Sanchez...
Ozil, Sanchez, Flamini and Mertesacker havent won the PL. The PL is a different kettle of fish to the PL

Cech is the only one who has experience of winning the PL.

Worth noting in La liga whilst Ozil was there was only a 2 horse race and now they are in a 4 horse race

Tottenham's lack of "wankers in their team" could cost them the chance of landing the Barclays Premier League title this season, according to former captain Sol Campbell.

Spurs moved above north London rivals Arsenal into third place following an impressive 3-0 win at Norwich on Tuesday night.

"The last eight to 10 games of the season are when you really find out who you are as a player, team and a club as a whole. For instance, it was at that time I decided to leave Tottenham on a free and join Arsenal. At the moment Spurs are going along fantastically well and you have to say they have given themselves a chance of winning the Premier League, but, unlike Arsenal and Manchester City, they don't have a lot of wankers in their team." wrote Campbell.

"By that I mean they don't have players who have experienced being a complete tw*t in a league of this quality. They are a young side with a lot of talent, but they might lack a player who has 'been there, done that, f**ked his club over for money and talked bollocks about it ever since', the sort of player who will keep everyone angry, upset and believing that anything tw***ish is possible from such a ****".

"I have offered my services to Spurs in case they think my experience as a wanker would be of benefit to them. But then I reneged on the deal and offered my services to Leicester instead".
