OS Stadium Seating Sell Out?
http://www.kumb.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=162449&sid=ab3399335ceb8a339f585b6ac60cdcdf

Chicken Run Supreme wrote:I am a member on the priority list. I renewed my membership in September but do not expect to get a reservation appointment, there just aren't enough seats to go round. The fact that the club are still actively encouraging people to join this list and pay a non refundable tenner stinks.
Got my season ticket last month, plenty left...the geezer who sold me mine reckoned the 54k capacity was more than enough...at the point Brady was gobbling off that we had sold 40k, we hadn't hit 30k

When I went in jan, the fella rejoined we were at about 33k...a long way to go until we are full...and if we sell out and there's thousands still willing to buy, we have the option to apply for an extension on the capacity

After talk about extending to 60K capacity
There is no way (past maybe the first season) that we will sell 60,000 tickets week in week out. Where on earth are we finding an extra 25,000 fans from!?

I can't for the life of me understand why 20,000 people suddenly want to start getting a Season Ticket but didn't before. A few thousand maybe but 20,000 is a seriously high number, it's not far off doubling our season ticket holders

I paid £150 for 2 tickets for West Ham vs Liverpool. I paid £289 for 19 games at the OS - that's what swung it for me and I imagine the same is true of a lot of people. But yeah, 20,000 is a lot.

But, excluding the new Band 5 section, the majority of the other season tickets are not too dissimilar (price wise) to at UP, granted they are all slightly cheaper. Match day ticket prices have been that high for a couple of years now. I do get your point and fair play to you because that is a great saving but 20,000 to me just seems astronomically high - I'm not sure I believe the club, nor do I believe that we will need the 60,000 capacity.

I just hope we don't get 2-3 years down the line and are playing in front of 40,000 on average every week in a 60,000 seater stadium

in response to the query ^^ about the extra 20K ST holders..... This guy hasn't been on Groupon has he?! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
2 main factors have been repeated on this forum over the past couple of years:

  • 1. Transport Links / Accessibility:
majority of fanbase live in Essex (also Kent, Herts, etc). Parking near the Bolyen is a nightmare. Having a single tube line, the District Line is a nightmare - especially taking kids and having to queue post-match.
Example: currently many coming in from Essex on the Liverpool Street line now only change @ Stratford with about half of their journey time still in front of them!

    2. Price.
Example: this season taking a 7-year-old child to Man City @ home £55. Next season: buying a 7-year-old a SEASON TICKET, £99.

Not even joking here but their ST is £289; I've spent more than than on a bender night out! What is our cheapest ST?

Do they want me to let loose on them or should I just let them have their "victory"?
Just tell them:

It's not hard 4-1 (get it? because we smashed you 4-1 this year) to see that you're only still in the FA cup because you're not up against a small time club from Romania (get it? Because you got knocked out before the group stages).

So pipe down and enjoy the middle of the table.

I mean FFS they got scored on by Kyle fucking Walker. That's just embarrassing.

"The contract, in its unredacted entirety, has been seen by the European Commission and they concluded the deal did not fall foul of State Aid rules.

That argument has long gone whether we remain in the EU or not - although i'm not sure the Charlton people have quite grasped the above."

This from the foi hearing always gets me. The hammers fans believe it. Which is not what has happened at all.
When the original deal was agreed the architecht complained to the eu. The eu were going to start an investigation. So the deal was scrapped and a new bidding process was started that we didn't take part. The eu said that they would not investigate further "at this time". The eu have not cleared the deal at all. But hammers fans keep on repeating it.

Good article about it.

They're ****s...plain and simple.
Hissing and Adolf Hitler songs?...as bad as Chelsea fans IMO.
And if that's not enough there's the Russell Brand and Danny Dyer cherry on a really shit cake.
****s.

A wide spread problem unfortunately

Arsenal fans at Spurs, September

Chelsea fans v Fulham, September

These incidents are from 2007 but I'm sure we are all aware there have been many examples from many sets of fans before and after.

I've also been in the Park Lane end next to Stoke fans singing antisemitic songs and hissing to mimic the gas chambers of the holocaust - so close I could see genuine hate in the eyes of their fans, unbelievable over a football game

I remember a group of Arsenal fans including young girls chanting "what do you think of Tottenham? SHIT" etc at Leicester square station no where near a football ground and they also broke in to the gas chamber hissing sounds

Who were they drawn against in the Europa League again?

They got knocked out by the fourth best team in Romania. After needing penalties to beat the third best team in Malta in the previous round. Impressive, I'm sure you'll agree...

Re West Ham fans - as someone who lives and has grown up in Essex I'm surrounded by the *****. Most of my mates, neighbours. Even my own brother. To top it off, at work I've got gooners and my in-laws are Chelsea.

I'll never forget being in the pub with my mates and loads of West Ham fans watching them in the cup final against Liverpool. Kept a low profile, but when that Gerrard goal went in I wanted to run around that pub. As I have a certain fondness for my front teeth and kneecaps I decided to restrain myself and just sniggered into my pint.....was a great day. :ROFLMAO:.

I understand the reluctance now to the Yiddo chants we Spurs fans were proud to sing, it's since come under resistance even from Spurs fans not to sing/chant.

I saw it as a unity a brotherhood of Spurs supporters against all the shit thrown at us.

O I let my feeling known. I was too young to be in a pub though.

My observation of essex, by that I mean the Romford type technically London borders/borough parts of Essex is that there seems to be mostly Spurs, Arsenal and West Ham fans living there (therefore all growing up together, school, work pubs/clubs etc) and the Arsenal and West Ham fans seem to be united in their shared hatred of Spurs

My brother in law is a gooner from Romford, several of his friends or people he knows are West Ham fans they all hate Spurs

I think if I had grown up in them sides I'd have hated West Ham much more than I do, I think environment plays the biggest role. Growing up in West London I hate Chelsea more, in the 90s I used to hate Man U but not so much now this is all largely down to the same football banter in Essex that involves West Ham fans (just that in the 90s in West London there were very few West Ham supporters around)

I do however remember celebrating that Liverpool winner against them from Gerrard almost as much as I celebrated the Barcelona winner vs Arsenal in the CL final

Agreed. It is very much us against them around here. Arsenal and West Ham fans seem to have a nice little bromance. It's fine, I'll destroy them both. Equally I know millwall fans that side with us because of West Ham.

I don't expect you to hate them but wishing them luck is too much imo. There not exactly Fulham.

Ironically, growing up around the corner from Griffin Park I used to quite often go to Brentford games as a kid when Spurs were playing away

I even go to the odd game now

Fulham are their rivals, Brentford fans hate Fulham. I've as a result always quite disliked Fulham

I've always wanted to visit the Cottage, seems like a quaint little ground, and i've always wondered how it feels - i have this image in my head that it's sort of like turning up at a county cricket match.
