You know when you look a c@#t and you really want to get out of it without digging a bigger hole, I'm that c@#t.... I think I'm juat gonna throw my hands up and admit I might have spouted utter bollocks and be done with it..... Thanks to all the people who set me straight, please dont use it against me.

Fair play to you pal. It takes a man to hold his hands up and admit he was wrong (no offence ladies).

Props to you.

What's with the mass opposition to any criticism on this forum? You literally can't say one negative thing without being bombarded by neg ratings and replies shooting you down. The world's best players get to the level they are through continued perseverance at improving all aspects of the game and the top managers demand perfection. Just because we're doing lots of things very well at the moment doesn't mean there shouldn't be discussion why X, Y or Z can't be done better.

If the negative observations are wrong, are we required to keep silent because it's someone's opinion?

I agree with your last sentence though, one should always look to improve

I have had the good fortune to be invited to watch a couple of games from an east stand box. I went today, and previously the home win against palace. The constant pressure we apply is reminiscent of the way man utd would play in their hay day. A real belief has come to this side. We look the real deal, a solid team. COYS.
A Utd fan I work with said pretty much the same thing to me 2 months ago & that. we would win the title. I played it down & blah blah blah'd about experience & just taking things as they come.. secretly I can see it.. though Atletico Madrid is a more comparable comparison imo.. I can see us been a force in Europe over next few seasons.. not at the Barca or Bayern level obviously.. at that step below I think if we upgrade in the right positions we can compete with everyone else

Of course not but there are certain members of this forum (no names) that will literally neg rep anything that isn't positive and happy clappy. There seems to be an overriding opinion that three points = everything is perfect when in reality there will be games we lose but play really well and vice versa.

at 65 minutes I was feeling pretty down - this could have easily been one of those matches where we batter the shit out of the opposition and come up short. Swansea was playing to frustrate as soon as they scored, but this team has an extra gear. Great game.

Been looking forward to watching extended highlights at 10pm on Sky but instead they're showing the carling cup game again. Great.

You're making a straw man argument, because no one is saying (no one ever says) that you can't post criticism. I post criticism and negative judgments on players and tactics after every match, without fail, because we're never perfect and we can always do better (as you said).

But what I never, ever, ever do is to come here after a fine win, when we have played the other side off the park and got three points, and make, as my only comment, a load of drivel about how we could have lost because of one or two moments in the game. Especially not just after a match in which we've had 34 fucking shots!

That's what is pissing people off. It's out of perspective and it's gratuitously unpleasant, not to mention utterly deluded, to ignore the amazing performance and solid result and concentrate solely on a couple of momentary failings.

I posted something a few weeks ago about double standards: how every opposition near-miss is a failure of the Spurs defence and "we were lucky", whereas every Spurs near-miss is a failure of the Spurs attack and "we were shit". That's what was underlying people's irritation with @sim simma (who has had the very good sense to listen and think) and @millsey. There's no balance - and there never is with some people. They only ever spot the errors and the failures and they give no credit to the successes and the inspired moments.

That's just bad behaviour and, worse yet, it's an inaccurate picture of reality.

At the same time there are certain members that seem to only want to look for or comment on the negative.

Some posters need to find a balance and while pointing out where we can improve (rather ran just saying this is shit that is shit), constructive criticism will get a better response and you can always put in something good about the players to balance out the view on them.

Personal i dont think Son had a great game today, just didnt come off for him, but he still made some good runs and created space at times

I think that is a very fair assessment, and I think when you have experience on forums you learn to form well rounded arguments that attract debate rather than making yourself look like a bell end. I feel shot down tonight but realise I didn't help myself. It's no big deal to me, next time I'll be more balanced in my posting......it was a great win though and I'm now gonna watch it again on match of the day.... Love to you all..... COYS

I made far more than one comment. And I have been saying since we played Arsenal away we can win the league. How a comment I made saying we need to be more clinical in front of goal has been taken so much out of proportion I dont know. We have to look at he bigger picture than the win today. We have the best defence in the league. I just said we need to make more of our chances or we will drop points when we dominate games. We can win this bloody thing

Just popping in to get my post-brilliant win dose of arguing, moaning and negativity.

Right, I can go to bed now. Sweet dreams everyone.

It was not for the want of trying that we didn't score. It was a brilliant performance from Fabianski, which I hope he will replicate against his former team.

Cant wait for match of the day with Ian Wright.
It really didn't tell the whole story from yesterday.

The ref and lino's were shocking and I'm sure there were 2 solid penalty shouts in the first half that didn't even get shown let alone debated.
They were keen to give flappyhandski man of the match but neglected to show his obscene time wasting from the second they scored and that he took half a dozen goal kicks (eventually) and booted them straight out of play.
They didn't show an incident where rose got booked for being clattered and something happened with him off the ball that wasn't shown.

Also Shearer said something like we didn't play well but still grinded out a result when it was really more of a case of us playing well and only grinding out a result in the fact that we only won 2-1 but it easily could have been 6-1. Makes you wonder how much of the game they actually watch before speaking on it. I'd be surprised if I see a more one sided 2nd half for the rest of the season and it wasn't just meaningless possession it was wave after wave of attacks.
