Typical tottenham to switch from a supplier whose growth is skyrocketing to a company which has seen much better days, with ever declining growth!

UA was unique, but I guess money makes sense.

Er UA would have to grow 20 times bigger to get close to nike, the biggest sportswear brand in the world.

Under Armour do great stuff, but 30m a year is a shit load of money. Astin villa get about 3m!

Can anyone remember the itk we had on this. I'm sure someone posted something about it in the last year or so. I can't see to find it on here.

Is £30 million enough, I mean it's a crazy figure but how does it match up to other clubs?

I like this news and choose to believe it despite the source.

I agree, source isn't the best. However this seems nailed on. NFL, new stadium, no current PL team London team kitted out by Nike & Daniel Levy. All clicks when you think about it.

Personally love Adidas the most, and UA are unique, but the commercial aspect of a Nike deal is massive.

There's always going to be fans that don't want Nike, in the same way that there are people that refuse to buy Apple products because they're "taking over" or something, I dunno.

Personally I'm absolutely delighted at this news. I love Nike, always have, always will. That said, I agree that UA have done a good job overall, save for a couple of weird designs, but this seasons kits have been superb.

For me though there has always been a high level of quality associated to Nike and I always hated it when Arsenal had them.

Let's also be clear, a LOT of teams that don't have a formal agreement with Nike will often use their kits so you will always see the generic designs across multiple teams. You only have to look at teams in the Championship, League 1 and League 2 to see this. As far as I can see, these are there only officially licensed clubs right now:

Not sure how Blackburn got themselves a kit deal!? haha.

Out of interest, what was the ITK?

over a 3 year deal its an extra £60m, nearly 10% of the stadium cost. For that I wouldn't care if the kits were made by sondicco tbh

Having said this, I've realised now that Nike have tended to have a common design theme across their teams this season so that's a bit of a shame. I like the designs for the most part but I would hope they move back to being more original per team once/if we get them on board.

A poster on coys called sp14official posted this in September 2013. I think it's probably correct as the bit about the stands is true. Remember the phrase "cornerstone sponsorship" coming up at the last stadium planning meeting, well that's the bit about different stands being sponsored. Anyway here was the itk:

There is something to these Nike Rumours, although nothing is final.

UA not happy about this as you can imagine.

Levy also wants apparently wants sponsorship for each stand, i.e - The Burger King West Stand, KFC East Stand, etc.

I asked him what this means to the original deal I mentioned in June where the source was adamant of funding and sponsorship in place for the project. But I haven't heard back yet.

Makes the deal to switch from KSS to Populous more bizarre as I found a link between them and the company I was told about in June (I still won't name them yet.)

Anybody have any interest in ethics?

If so, aren't Nike pretty grim? Or have they stopped sweat shops and the use of environmentally destructive solvents etc?

If UA, or the like, have a more sound ethical strategy then I'd take less from them. Guess that's why ethics gets into many companies 'values' but virtually all never let it affect bottom line...

Despise Nike and everything they stand for don't want them anywhere near my club and will not buy any of their merchandise.
That said I understand that we need to take advantage of a good business deal so being as they are probably a bit desperate for a deal I am happy in the knowledge that Danny boy will tear them a new one before they get it.

Personally not a fan of Nike. Been an ethically corrupt company for a long time.

But money talks and we can't afford to earning £20m a year less than Chelsea for kits.

Same as everyone else really. Loved being unique and loved that UA seemed to put a bit of effort in. best kit's we've had in a while.

Nike would be the money, and we know that's what we need to compete (especially if it links to individual players). What would really sway me is if it was linked to stadium rights. Nike Arena would be fun.

Nike arena is a step too far.

We will get the maker who does the American Football kits.

Obvious kit maker is Obvious.

I think UA and us are a great match, but I can't help feel that there has been a souring in our relationship with them. On Instagram, UA regularly post about their endorsee's successes - Cam Newton, Steph Curry, Jordan Speith, Mark Phelps, Andy Murray, even bloody Memphis Depay - yet have not posted about our title challenge once, despite us apparently being their marquee 'soccer' association and being serious about cracking the market

There was a bit of a farce where one of our kits got leaked and had to be released early IIRC, maybe that did irreconcilable damage to the relationship?

I hope not because I really like UA and I think we are a good match

Can't stand Nike, never buy their products, ever. Adidas all day long for me in the sports retail side of things.
