I think people are underestimating how big Under Armour are in America. They have two of the biggest stars in The NBA and NFL, Stephen Curry and Tom Brady.

Stephen Curry is predicted to be the next Michael Jordan and it's estimated he could raise UA's worth to $28bn. They've grown 430% in the last 5 years which is spectacular. They're are a fantastic and innovative company to be associated with.

They've over taken Adidas in North America sales and are just behind Nike now and are desperate to become a major global brand. Nothing would promote that more by sponsoring a Tottenham team in the Champions League (fingers crossed).

Having family in America I came onto Under Armour not long after they started out, I'm a but of a fanboy as you might of guessed and have a vested in the company. You can imagine my face when they signed with Spurs, it was like watching my missus have it off with Emily Ratajkowski.

They've been out bidding Nike on a lot of contracts recently, hopefully Spurs might be another one!

Dallas Cowboys for example had the kit made by Nike as is the Giants so if we went with Nike as a sponsor it wouldn't be surprising due to our NFL love in.

NFL is a bit different to sponsorship in England. Nike have an agreement with the NFL to supply the jerseys for ALL the teams. They took over Reebok (owned by Adidas) a few years ago.

However Under Armour also have a deal with the NFL to supply a huge range of official gear.

Nike have come under fire and been ridiculed in the States over some of their NFL mishaps and there are rumours Under Armour are putting a mega bid together when their current deal expires.

You can add Cam Newton and Jordan Spieth to the list of superstars who will drive UA's revenue through the roof in the next few years

It's not indefinite. We'd just use Nike to gain more exposure until another manufacturer offers us more money.

Don't care who makes the kits to be honest. We've more important things to worry about than who makes the overpriced tat in the gift shop. Whoever pays us the most money is the people I want.

Yes Nike have questionable ethics, that don't sit well. But I don't imagine that our under armour kits are made by well paid grannies in a little cottage in Colorado. It's probably sweatshop city.

Amazed that people give a shit about the kit really. It's all about the money.

Can't believe Man Utd get £75m a year. That's crazy.....mind you, there are a lot of people in China.

Shows what they're up against. Nike's overseas sales are about 55% compared to UA's 10%, expected to reach 20% in 2018.

Under Armour are one of the few companies to offer its athletes and sponsors stock options. Levy, being the businessman he is hopefully got a slice back in 2012 so he'll want to stick with them :)

I really like what UA have done. Shame if it is to be Nike, for me.

UA has about 1/4 of the US market share that Nike has. More men choose UA, more women choose Nike. Significance? Women's sports apparel market is a far bigger market than men's. But obviously for football specifically, men make up the majority of the market. Hence, UA should sponsor football, Nike should sponsor women's athletics (or equivalents).

As an international fan, the best part about Nike getting the kit deal will be the retail distribution of the replica kits. Nike football shirts end up fucking everywhere. Still haven't seen one of the under armor shirts (and never saw one of the Puma ones) in any retail situation in my corner of the world.

Totally agree. Half the team shirts sold here are Nike but I couldn't tell you who the teams are. I have never seen a Tottenham shirt in stores over here - never, ever. If signing up to Nike means I'll see our kit in stores then I'm all for it. Who knows,we might even pick up a fan or two along the way

This Nike deal runs out in 2017 I think.
UA supply all college football I think.
