It is, it's the season we would move out, not back in.

When does the AIA sponsorship end?
I'm sure any new deal for that would have more to do with the stadium than the kit makers

We're only in the 2nd year of a five year deal.

I doubt it.. They would have problems providing kits to other English clubs if they owned a direct competitor club and some of the profit made on selling their kits then gets reinvested into Tottenham to make them stronger.. It's a bit like Sainsburys buying Walkers Crisps and trying to sell this into Tesco and Asda, which wouldn't happen

Not only that but they directly sponsor players too. Imagine if we ended up playing Barca and Neymar "tripped" when defending and allowed us to score...

I would like spurs to stick with UA.
As a Hongkonger, I think the partnership between spurs, UA and AIA is quite successful in Hong Kong. More and more UA stores are opened in shopping malls. People are switching from nike or adidas to UA. More people become fans of spurs. Picture of spurs players appear on the advertisements of AIA and the vehicles owned by AIA. I have a friend who works for AIA even said employees with good performance were awarded with a free spurs kit (I don't know whether it is true though). I am really excited with the fact that my beloved club is well promoted in my homeland.

I'd like for the kits to look good, but the two bigger and more important pieces of the puzzle are brand promotion and brand money. I'd say that if UA was within 20% of Nike's offer, I'd stick with UA. They promote the hell out of us, offer good exposure in the US, and have been a good partner. If we have an off year next year, with Nike as a sponsor, do you really think you'll see Tottenham shirts in a Nike Town other than the one in London? Barca, City, PSG are their headliners.

But if we're talking £10m from UA or £30m from Nike? Then this isn't even a question, and the debate as to who makes nicer kits is irrelevant.

If we could get something similar to these kits, I'd be all for it.

If the difference in price is £5m, it would make me think long and hard about switching. Facts are Nike likely wouldnt promote us over City or their big foreign clubs. Being their only "big" club in London has nothing to do with it if we arent successful(ie title contending and in CL year in and year out). And they'll stick us on a template where we will just look like everyone else but with different colors.

Would it be worth foregoing an extra 5m to be the biggest club for a rapidly growing company who would promote us as such, have our own identity with them and are proven to make some really nice kits?

True.

But seriously doubt the difference would be much when it comes to renew.

I must admit I have never liked the UA kits. Selfishly I was happy when I heard they were our new kit provider. I had hoped I could go into a store like you can back home and just buy a shirt / training top off the shelf. What happened in reality was absolutely nothing to promote Spurs or enable a fan here to buy the kit. I have never seen a UA Spurs shirt for sale anywhere here bar buying it online. Contrast that to Nike though and there are Nike stores in most major US cities that absolutely will stock it. UA have done nothing out here to engage with the supporters clubs to get the kit out. Zero. They are no different than piss awful job Puma did.

If that 30 million quid a year is a realistic figure we should absolutely bite their hands off. I would be over the moon to have Nike as our kit provider. Takes us to a different level in my very humble opinion :D

Always thought adidas make the best kits.

Also didn't Nike take out some piss taking ad when that Judas scumbag bastard tosser RSol moved to the goons - something about the quickest way to get to europe. Wait for that ad to be dug out in the next couple of days........Levy should tell them, that will cost you an extra £10m a season as punishment.

But if they're willing to offer the most cash then that's where we will go......no time for sentiment in business and all that.

Disliked most of the UA kits (one or two have been very good). Thought I might eventually warm to the River Plate stripe this season, but nope...still looks shit to me.

However, if the were to offer us anywhere close to 30 million a year I'd be happy to live with it. If that's what Nike are supposedly offering, it's a no-brainer.

My feelings on UA/Nike aside...

Physically going to a store and buying something still? That's cute.

Haha I like to actually try something on before I buy it! I hardly ever buy clothes online. Always a pain in the arse to send back when they don't fit!

I havent bought anything from a physical store in about 3 or 4 years, including clothes.

You need to get out of your house more often then

To be honest most of us liked UA because they offered a lot of money at the moment. The same principle applies here. And the plus for me is that I like the simplistic format of Nike and Adidas. UA and Puma look like they try too hard to stand out and overdo the design. Umbro is another one who makes them simple and looks very nice
