I think this is on topic as its relevant to what our oponents' fans are saying.

It appears that Man Utd., Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool will all be re-building under new managers.

Presumably, re-building means (for those managers anyway) expensive purchases of 4 or 5 players each.

Where and who are these players? Ruling out players from Real Madrid, Bayern and Barcelona I would struggle to think of 16-20 players that would fall within the category of "top class". Also, those that are in that category, will be in such demand that their price and wages will be through the roof.

Could be an interesting summer.

You will also have the new tv money so every team will want to buy top players.
Just hope we already have our targets sorted.

Haven't you heard? Jerk Vileshere hasn't really been injured all this time. He has been secluded in a secretive facility where the One World Government's top scientists have been cloning him. Anonymouse predict that within the next two months there will be enough Jerks to go around all formerly dominant clubs struggling to cope with reduced status and looking to spend mahoosive amounts of wedge on an immediate and infallible return to the big time.

Secret agents have acquired pre-copy draughts of the forthcoming advertising campaign:

ATTENTION all football clubs!!!

Did you used to be dominators but are now crap?

Does no amount of spending on mere mortals amend your false and horrific situation?

If you answer YES to either of these questions you need a JERK!!!

£50 Million per Jerk or Buy Two Get One Free

That's right, using the latest technology we have created exact living, breathing replicas of Jerk Vileshere. Now you need never go without a dominating World Class presence in midfield ever again.

Just read these testimonies from former managers and fans:

"Jerk is a tireless midfield dynamo with incredible technique on the ball, I wouldn't hesitate to build my team around him." Mr A Whinger.

"Jerk is great. He is World Class. He could easily play for Barcelona or Real Madrid!!!" Mr A Goon Twat

Yep! It'll take time for the new coaches to learn about their new teams and the need to quickly integrate those shiny new expensive signings into the teams. Plus the pressure of expectation on the new coaches; particularly difficult for those new to the demands of the domestic game, like Guardiola and Conte.

They'll also have to deal with the fact that the less wealthy clubs, like ours, will still be able to strengthen their own squads with the advantage of having coaches that have been in charge for a while, know the players and have a clearer idea of how to strengthen current resources.

At the risk of taking this thread back to the grammar zone, you spelled 'Vileshere' and 'Invalided' wrong but you are correct.

invalid
ˈɪnvəlɪd/

noun: invalid; plural noun: invalids

  1. a person made weak or disabled by illness or injury.
"Jack spent the rest of his life as an invalid"

  2. A football team originating in South London who play in red and aren't Charlton Athletic.
"Why do I support these invalids? Another one bites the dust, and whose name is Harry Kane? Aarrgh"
verb
verb: invalid; 3rd person present: invalids; past tense: invalided; past participle: invalided; gerund or present participle: invaliding
1
.
remove (someone) from active service in football because of injury or illness.

"he was badly wounded and invalided out of the match"
disable (someone) by injury, illness or a gentle breeze.

"a mouthy little shit was invalided by a crumb falling from his chicken nugget"

Alternative:
"a mouthy little shit invalided by suffering whiplash when spitting violently at taxi driver"

Verb: invalidate; past participle: invalidated;
1.
an unfortunate creature (usually but not exclusively one of the estates' feral cat or dog population) coerced into a romantic [sic.] tryst with Jerk Vileshere.

We better stuff the dippers. Cant stand em.
After Chelsea they're the club whose misfortunes I delight in the most. When I was growing up Liverpool were the glamour club and every kid in Suffolk had one of those stupid red Adidas bags. I was the only Spurs fan at school.

On the subject of other fans, I don't mind West Ham fans. There, I feel better now I've fessed up.

Anyway, this isn't what our opponents' fans are saying about us, it's what I'm saying about them. And it's not a grammar critique. Sorry. As you were.

I'd like (obviously) to see West Ham sign another World class player to take pressure off Payet. Ibrahimović isn't gonna happen so who?

⚒Martyn Stewart⚒‏@martWHU
@MikespaceOnline i'd put in a cheeky bid for Neymar

Mikespace Online™ ‏@MikespaceOnline 29m29 minutes ago
@martWHU Now that would be cheeky! Could we???

⚒Martyn Stewart⚒ ‏@martWHU 29m29 minutes ago
@MikespaceOnline get champions league, got the stadium anything possible

Mikespace Online™ ‏@MikespaceOnline 29m29 minutes ago
@martWHU If we made the Champions League we would need around 8 additional players, good ones! Neymar would help!

⚒Martyn Stewart⚒ ‏@martWHU 27m27 minutes ago
@MikespaceOnline get in champions league it will open up a whole new door to players wanting to come to us, + Bilic is a drawer as well

Mikespace Online™ ‏@MikespaceOnline 25m25 minutes ago
@martWHU Question I have is can we sign as well as we have this season again next? We need another good transfer window & bang! Here we are!

⚒Martyn Stewart⚒ ‏@martWHU 21m21 minutes ago
@MikespaceOnline Bilic is proving he is good at transfers. So feel confident. Really got me thinking now, Chris Smalling would be a good buy

In fairness some of our own fans act like this. As if CL means we can now sign anyone and everyone under the sun and it's Levy's fault if we don't.

I haven't read anything this ridiculous on SC. Do you have deluded spurs fan friends?
