I'd like (obviously) to see West Ham sign another World class player to take pressure off Payet. Ibrahimović isn't gonna happen so who?

⚒Martyn Stewart⚒‏@martWHU
@MikespaceOnline i'd put in a cheeky bid for Neymar

Mikespace Online™ ‏@MikespaceOnline 29m29 minutes ago
@martWHU Now that would be cheeky! Could we???

⚒Martyn Stewart⚒ ‏@martWHU 29m29 minutes ago
@MikespaceOnline get champions league, got the stadium anything possible

Mikespace Online™ ‏@MikespaceOnline 29m29 minutes ago
@martWHU If we made the Champions League we would need around 8 additional players, good ones! Neymar would help!

⚒Martyn Stewart⚒ ‏@martWHU 27m27 minutes ago
@MikespaceOnline get in champions league it will open up a whole new door to players wanting to come to us, + Bilic is a drawer as well

Mikespace Online™ ‏@MikespaceOnline 25m25 minutes ago
@martWHU Question I have is can we sign as well as we have this season again next? We need another good transfer window & bang! Here we are!

⚒Martyn Stewart⚒ ‏@martWHU 21m21 minutes ago
@MikespaceOnline Bilic is proving he is good at transfers. So feel confident. Really got me thinking now, Chris Smalling would be a good buy
Ahhh, bless.

In fairness some of our own fans act like this. As if CL means we can now sign anyone and everyone under the sun and it's Levy's fault if we don't.

Haven't seen any of our fans suggesting we could sign any stars from real, barca or bayern. Few tongue in cheek about bringing bale or modric back but not really serious.

Far worse. Liverpool do arguably still have a certain stature in the world game - these pikeys are just beyond deluded

That's why there's a whole heap of disappointment coming their way in the next few years. They are the most deluded and expectant fans in the country, relatively speaking. Sure, Liverpool fans are extremely expectant but they've been to the top of the mountain countless times as a club and are a massive name worldwide ( as much as a few here wouldn't like to admit )

West Ham are flying at the moment and the support is extremely "optimistic", which is fair enough but this is an absolute freak of a season for them. If they win the FA Cup and finish 4th it will be the best season the club has ever had since it was formed.
As it stands I can't see them settling back to their natural position but I can easily see them finishing outside the top 7 next season and the years to come and the support won't like that at all. Be plenty of empty seats at the Athletics bowl then.

From Red Cafe on Alli in a thread "Dele Alli is England's best young midfielder"

How the flying feck did every big team in the Prem let him go to Spurs

He's a proper complete midfielder. He doesn't really have any weaknesses to his game.

Because, in his own words: "When I signed here I wanted to play for Tottenham and I wasn't thinking of going anywhere else at the time .... I’m really excited to be working with Pochettino."

Ah well, at least Liverpool didn't get him.

We can probably drop the "young" in the thread title now.

Absolute gem of a talent

He's England's best midifeld, period. But I'd argue Dier is our most important player, without him we literally have no other DM's to cover.

Is it safe to start calling him one of the best young talents in the world now? not being funny, but some of the shit he did tonight put experienced players we call world class to shame.

Edit: he has the attitude, and the talent.

He's a great young player but I couldn't believe how much praise he received on commentary tonight. That was far from his best performance this season and I honestly thought he was a level below Kane and Welbeck for most of the game.

He was our biggest threat. Even Matthaus said he was best on the pitch, and he is just calling what he sees

Excellent game by him, MOTM with Dier for me. Hugely impressed with this lad, and I think he'll be the sensation of the Euros.

So depressing he's at Spurs, absolutely no chance of ever signing him

He was excellent tonight, he has a gracefulness on the ball but doesn't lack bite in his defensive work and pressing. Personally I don't agree with the calls for him to play deeper, at least not until he gets much older. He's an ideal AM in a 3 man midfield and should be kept in that more advanced attacking role for now.

Welbeck was very good. Positioned himself selflessly, supported Kane well and added pace and a good touch. England had no passengers yesterday. Alli Rose and Welbeck combined to make our left side a real thorn for the Germans.

Whilst we are talking delusions we do have to have a look at ourselves....

Benzema, Aguero, Greizmann and countless others have been coming to us at times me thinks.
I realise that it's only a minority that get sucked into believing it but we do have them on here too!

Having said that I bet Neymar doesn't write a lovely letter to West Ham like Mr Rivaldo did to us

All those were upcoming talents at them time though. Neymar is considered one of the top 5 forwards on the planet, at the peak of his powers and playing for them set side in the world.

Also, we signed Klinsmann. Innovators not imitators!:)

Come on, 1 person said they think they can sign Neymar and the whole fanbase is deluded? That's like another fan basing our majority opinions on the shite that jari17 spouts on here :/

Anyway looks like we're getting a lot of praise by opposing fans for the part that our players played in the England win last night, it's very hard to find any disparaging comments about Spurs lately. (y)

Having a quick scan through the England threads on Redcafe, RAWK, Bluemoon and Arsenal-Mania. Have to say pretty much all our boys getting rave reviews. A lot through gritted teeth I'll admit. Poch also getting some plaudits for the way he has them playing. You know that has to hurt for them to admit. People seem quite excited by that young English team apart from the two centre halves, I don't think anyone here was excited by them either. If we could just get two good players in there this could be a good Euros for us. If Woy has the balls to leave Rooney out of the team and go with the youngsters.

There's another thread on Red Cafe discussing who England's best player is... 99% said Kane with a few saying Alli and one or two saying Smalling

I think this is on topic as its relevant to what our oponents' fans are saying.

It appears that Man Utd., Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool will all be re-building under new managers.

Presumably, re-building means (for those managers anyway) expensive purchases of 4 or 5 players each.

Where and who are these players? Ruling out players from Real Madrid, Bayern and Barcelona I would struggle to think of 16-20 players that would fall within the category of "top class". Also, those that are in that category, will be in such demand that their price and wages will be through the roof.

Could be an interesting summer.

Like your reasoning (y)
