You won't be saying that when I roll out the 'cabbage' cryptics :D
Is it perfectly acceptable for me to suggest another vegetable this summer? Maybe Artichokes?
Also; I veto dual colour cryptics.
And obscure references to WWII.

As always, feel free to send me the answer, and I will come up with the riddle.

I don't give a flying fuck if it was alcohol or not. If you're paid that much money, you be at work when you need to be at work. IDGAF if it was alcohol or if it was because he missed his plane because his dumbass brain couldn't work out what time he had to be at the airport for his flight ... that much is irrelevant to me. He is a massively (over!)paid employee and he shoudl be at work, fit to work.

I was out on Saturday night at an event that we were running, i was obliged to be there, to socialise, drink and such with clients & guests until 5AM. I was back at the venue at 9AM lugging garbage, on my knees rubbing wine stains out of marble floors and generally making sure that all was well since it was all ultimately my responsibility. Got back 9PM after a 12 hour day on 2 hours hung over sleep. I am not paid a fraction of what Danny Rose is, if I can get my ass out of bed to work on a Sunday so can he.

lol calm down, you don't even know it's true but you're getting all emotional.

Two competing pieces of itk on Rosegate.

Need a decider.

I'd ignore all the negative ones (about Rose, Mason etc.) at the moment

A lot of our poorer-calibre fans take greater pleasure in our failures than they do our accomplishments. They just haven't had a chance to indulge in some misery and do faux outrage for 18 months.

Indeed. This points total crap has been discussed at length before (mostly by those hell bent on defending AVB).

It's irrelevant. The only important comparison is our points total compared to other teams in the same season.

Richer league = less ability for top teams to hoover up talent = stronger 'lesser' teams = weaker 'big' teams = more competition = lower points totals (at the top especially) = more emphasis on coaching than buying

Seems bloody obvious to me. Sunday was brutal enough, I don't get why some are so desperate to try and write off all the legit good work in the season just to sink into deeper depression!

I also stumbled across this beauty when looking into points totals: AVB/Sherwood 69pts - Ramos/Redknapp 51pts - Mourinho/Hiddink - 50pts

Anyway, fingers crossed from some ITK soon, 3 weeks to Euro's so could be some early deals and more ITK than usual at this time of the year...

Come on A&C. We finished on 70 points. In how many years would that make top 4? 90% of the time, we'd be on the outside looking in. That standard Poch teams collapse we suffered would have destroyed our season in any normal year.

The points argument is so meaningless. We were more consistent than 17 other teams in the league, that is all that matters.

Indeed the only way the points reference works is if all the other teams stay exactly the same, and they don't the midtable teams are far stronger than they have been in previous seasons, making the points theory nil and void.

70 points have been enough for top 4 for at least every second season. The league is also much more competetive compared to five years ago.

Agree with this, more teams are going to take points off each other in the future so the number of points needed for this and that is going to drop in the coming years. The past trend is irrelevant with the money floating around now.

Would you have said Danny Drinkwater, Jamie Vardy and Wes Morgan etc were top four quality players before this season?!
I'll be happy with whatever calls Poch makes for the benefit of the squad, to be honest, but this 'improved upon' logic that so many football fans have should have ended in the Fergie years when he was winning titles with the likes of Wes Brown, John O'Shea, Nicky Butt etc...

Nearly every Championship is won by the team with the best squad. The most telling stat this year is that our best first 11 were unbeaten all season. The players rotated in haven't been able to compete at the same level. We need to address that problem and bring in better quality competition.

Looking aside from whatever "36 teams" means, we weren't the most consistent team. By far. We had one mediocre part, one excellent part and yet again a mediocre part at the end. That's not consistency. Last season was divided in 3 too, but the bad period on either end of the season lasted much longer, and the good period in the middle was shorter. .
