Personally I think you have to blame Graham Carr for this, he has constantly been assembling a squad full of young foreign talent and is it little wonder they don't look up for it

Now one thing that highlights the poor management of signings is this season they spent £15m whilst overlooking Payet despite him being available for cheaper. They have plenty of players that fit that criteria of cheap young players they will try and hope will become better players instead of players that will improve them now yet the only reason they went for Thauvin is because of this.

Also they didnt sign one defender this winter.

As for them moving forward they will struggle more than last time, there is FFP and they have a lot of foreign players, unlike last time I cant see too many sticking around
If relegation rids them of Mike Ashley it will be a blessing in disguise.

Feel sorry for Andros though, he at least can hold his head up high.
Andros has a release clause of £8m according to the media so I don't think he is too unhappy

You can understand the upset. It would be like Arsenal relegating us but staying up. I'd have to defriend all my Gooner m8s. In fact I'd just shut down my FB account and throw my phone in the bin.

I've always had a soft spot for Newcastle, cos of my age, the players they produced in that period, Chrissy Waddle, Peter Beardsley, Gazza, and alike. And the Keegan team later on in many ways felt very Spurs like.

Always loved the Local Hero theme they come onto the pitch to, as it's one of my favourite films.

Lovely part of the world too, the city's always a fun night out, and the countryside surrounding it is beautiful.

However the folk up there do have a bit of chip on their shoulder about the North South divide and the London powerhouse economy, the football team's troubles seem to be an extension of this malaise.

Ashley's a right prick. They need to make his life miserable to get him out of there tout suite.

If (or when) Rafa leaves, I wonder if they'll go for Pearson?

Somebody to everton, martinez to newcastle. Geordies back up the following year. Don't know why but it's one of those crystal ball thoughts that seems to fit.

Read this morning that Benitez is 2nd favourite for Everton job and that Martinez will end up at Newcastle.

Considerably more than just good ol' SK. I remember a lot of posts in the transfer section and wherever about Newcastle showing ambition, why can't we, we're falling behind and so on.

I heard this morning that only Man City spent more on transfers than Newcastle this season.

If you put Martinez in charge of that defense they'll be in league one before Christmas.

He was about fifth favourite yesterday. I put a few pounds on him at 11/1.
