Wanyama ticks all the boxes for me.

The most important one being the fact he would be Pochs choice.

I see Wanyama as this years Alderweireld. It such a freakin' logical transfer, I would be surprised if it doesn't happen. May not be extremely exciting, but if it pans out as with Alderweireld, it will work out.

Finally some ITK! Pure DM was a vital acquisition for us. Dier should still start as he has a higher ceiling but finally some cover, and the option to play two in some tough games or to close some out. Makes sense with contract running down too. Saves funds for 1-2 attacking players, where the extra £££ could make more of a difference.

Anyone who has a problem with this just remember Poch would be signing him again, he knows his qualities in his system better than anyone...

Is there any idea of cost though? Everyone saying he's good value? I've seen £20 million for what will essentially be Diers back up. Like him though and only 24. Has played a lot of games

Assuming the VW deal works out. How does he compare to Morgan Schnierdlin?

He'll do a job...

The new stadium's going to need hoddies I guess.

I think our record of dropping points from winning positions speaks for itself. There's clearly something not right there and I think Wanyama would be a good signing - especially if he can help us to close games out. He can play the exact same role as Dier which would enable us to keep with the system so I really don't see a problem if it comes off.

But Poch's Southampton also were the worst in the league for dropping points from winning positions with Wanyama.

Sell Mason for £8m, Carroll for £5m and sign Wanyama for what? £15m? He's a huge upgrade on both of those two and it'd only set us back £2m. Reliable, PL quality squad depth is exactly what we need. Wanyama ticks that box.

I think £20m is probably going to be cheap in a year that looks as though prices are going to be sillier than ever. :(

If its true.......and right now that bears emphasising, IF its true, then although it might not be a horn provoking signing it might be the first sign that Pochettino is sorting out the weak willed, spineless fuckers who bent over and were so ingloriously rogered by some serious cack at the back end of last season.

People weren't that excited over Alderweireld either and he was a revelation for us. At this point I trust poch 100% to identify our weaknesses and address with the perfect player.

Would be a great signing for when we look on the ropes and need to hold onto a point or 3. Someone who can come off the bench, breakup the momentum of the opposition and helps drive us forward. Although rather one dimensional; every team needs one of his kind.

Cant think of a better DM with Prem experience. Especially at that price. Witsel is interesting but would cost much more and would take a while to settle.

No brainier for me

I think Poch had waited a year to sign him thinking he had Dier as a back up DM for Bentelab. Now with Bentelab out of favor, uncertainty for Mason, it would be an important addition with UCL to play for. We probably need one more Toby back up as well so that Dier can focus his development into another Dembele type of player. Just hope Bentelab will step up next season else we should ship him out.
