Chelsea one reminds me of that council estate in Camden. Some nice people around there, just not such nice architecture.

what film did this appear in?

According to Wikipedia, it says Rowley Way appeared in Kingsman, 28 Weeks Later and a few TV programmes (I refuse to use the word 'shows' eurgh), such as Spooks, Silent Witness and The Sweeney.

Calling that estate Camden is a bit of a stretch, that's out west over near Kilburn, isn't it?

Suppose so. Okay, Borough of Camden. I'd say about halfwayish. I never lived around there, I used to get the bus from Ladbroke Grove to Camden Town on Saturdays and I'd say about half way on that route.

I went to a house party or two just around the back of that row after nights out, probably in Camden as it goes, now i think about it, so it can't be that far as i would've been mind-alteringly un-sober at the time :joyful:

The Chelsky stadium is eye catching. But have to wonder if they have given much thought beyond the aesthetics and fitting in the space? It looks like it's been put together to tick certain boxes (60,000 seats etc) and to fit into a limited space and then prettified. Funny edges, that bridge to the station and the way the stand has been designed to fit in with the local buildings. Not too sure it's going to work.

It's the inside of the stadium that really gets remembered and the atmosphere it creates. Which is why the Spammer stadium is so, so bad (been there...it really is terrible).

What I really like about the new WHL is that single stand. Awesome. It's going to be a wall of noise. Plus the whole American Football pitch concept is an inspired one. Just get the feeling that WHL has been designed with us fans in mind rather than an architects wet dream based on Roman's fantasy.

Also, that stadium in Doha that looks like a vagina....:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Gets me every time I see it.

Looking on the Chelsea forums one guy claims to have heard they won't be given the green light to build over the railway... could mean that the Chelsea stadium is cancelled anyway and they go back to the drawing board.

They seem to be increasingly sceptical as news has completely dried up about the project.

Exactly what I expected. All that chat in the papers about how it was all suddenly going to happen and they'd be in Wembley ofr three years was somewhere between overly optimistic (Chelsea) and utterly ill-informed (journos). Was never going to happen.

I hope this isn't the same of other stadiums, as I like stadiums with a stand over a train line like Lansdowne Road.

Of course this is slightly different as they would have nuclear waste going through but Im sure they would have to go through some tunnels already

Getting in and out of Lansdowne (Aviva) is a bloody nightmare, I still have nightmares of smelly armpits and punch ups, and that was after a concert!!

I can't see the nuclear waste going under the stadium being a problem anyway, the club is toxic as it is.

It's not just the fact it already goes through tunnels, it's all about potential disruption and the fact that it makes the line far more difficult to look after as access becomes substantially more limited. There's so many different factors at play here that it is much more difficult than building over a chunk of line in the countryside or whatever. Beyond that, there are issues like the collapse that happened when Tesco were building on top of that train line, imagine that happening when a train full of Nuclear Waste is travelling through, there's the potential to make a 9 square mile area of Central London a no-go zone for the next 10,000 years. The odds of it actually going wrong are very slim, but Network Rail are given the authority to say yes or no because they are the best qualified to do that job and you would think of all the places in all of the country, this is going to be one of the hardest to say yes to.
