The other issue, let's face it is the real English thugs that would be spoiling for a fight aren't allowed to travel as they have to hand in their passports during these events. The Russian thugs have no such banning orders in place.

Apparently they do have banning orders as well, but there's so many of them that are free to travel

Also police now saying that they fear 150 extremely violent Russians heading to Lille for the Eng-Wales match.

There's a lot of English travelling over for Thursday with the intent of trouble. Revenge is on the cards

Said in the first few pages of this thread that people should be very careful because people around here are not to be fucked with, be it the local gangs in the Banlieu, the Corsican Mafia, the Russia Mafia ... You do NOT fuck with people around here. Mind your business and keep your head down you'll be fine (as attested by a few people on this site). Stick your head up and mess with people and you're playing with fire.

Seems to me that a few Brits started fucking around a few days ago, bit of rowdy banter, bit of a laugh that got a bit out of hand. In a normal place under normal circumstances that would be it. Move on, slight stain on the old rep but that's it. However the initial behavior pissed people off/ 'challenged' them and they moblilised and now it's gone beyond what was accounted for.

So hence we can see if we look at the timeline that it started small (probably alot at the door of a few English fans tbf) and it has spiraled out of control, out of the hands of the England fans, and could now spiral further if these reports of Russians planning on following the England fans are to be believed.

Arnt the Russians who the trouble is with, also travelling fans?

I kinda hope the Welsh team up with England and give these Russians a damn good thrashing (as General Melchett would say) but obviously that's not good for anyone, still kinda hope they do.

I've always been an advocate of letting these animals fight it out on some field somewhere but the majority of them are cowards who prefer to beat up drunk, innocent fans who are just there for the football.

This isn't going to end well is it?

Hard to see us remaining in the tournament what with the vehement anti english sentiment across europe atm. French will probably sue english families skulls for breaking their chairs and bottles. Be interesting to see how other countries, obv Russia primarily, get treated. Not meant in any nationalistic way, I hate that stuff, but all seems very unfair right now.

Discussed it here, semi seriously this morning and decided that, instead of penalty shoot-outs, let the fans scrap it out to decide who goes into next round.

Don't know who the hell they are specifically. There can't be too many traveling fans, it's almost impossible for 'regular' Russians to get Visas for France.

Why aren't you reading about loads of clashes between the Russians and the local French nut jobs or is it that the French/Russians are just looking out for the English?

I would have thought the Russians would be up for a tear up with some of the local Marseilles muslim community and vice versa

I seriously can't see this ending any other way than being thrown out of the competition. The question is does Russia (who should get thrown out) deserve to host the next world cup...? (we know they don't) but they've proven to be racist and violent, is that really what FIFA are promoting??

I can't see it tbh. I think the threat from FIFA was just posturing. Mind you, I guess I wouldn't be shocked if it does.

If they do get chucked out then surely Russia have to lose their WC but then how do the practicalities of that work? Who would get it next? You'd have to choose a country that is pretty much ready made to host a WC as it'd be short notice

It would be pretty bloody hilariously stark if they were thrown out the Euros and then went on & hosted the WC 2 years later!
