We just look a bit lost in terms of how to build effective play, we have done all tournament actually. I would bring on Lallana for Sterling personally although as much as I like Lallana as a player I don't think we normally get enough from him.

As much better Lallana has been this tournament Sterling gives better balance to the side and a bit of pace. Despite him being out of form I can see why Roy picks him

Seriously tried to defend Roy most of this tournament so far but why he persists on playing 433 when he only took one out of form winger is seriously beyond me. I can't understand it one bit, if he wanted to play that formation why take four no9s? It makes no sense at all.

I would get Stones on for Cahill, he has no idea how to bring the ball out from the back effectively.

The whole midfield is terrible, not working with Dier, Rooney and Alli trying to break up this midfield. Might be a game for Wilshire and Barkley.

Sturridge on the right??? Ffs he can't play there, why is he putting him wide? Just crazy from Roy.

Let's see that Iceland goal again from a different angle.

upside of going out is the lads can get a rest before the season....

3 mins in, we were electric and got an early goal.

Then it all fell apart. They equalised and the first 3/4 mins after we visibly shrank. Embarrasing.

I wouldnt change anything just yet. We have fashioned some decent chances, better than earlier games. Just need some to break the defence.

Thought about backing the minnows with the crippled banking system and plummeting currency. But have decided to stick with Iceland

Lots huffing and puffing, but it's all a bit witless. You get players taking an extra touch when it could be moved quickly, or panicking and passing to quickly when they should put their foot on it. The movement goes from everyone being static then all realising they are static and all spinning off at the same time.

The other thing that you really notice is the way the best nations and players are that bit better at simply passing; the weight of pass, passing into a moving players stride. English players tend to whack the ball at each other, even when they are 5 yards apart, so the receiving player can rarely take the ball quickly, in stride but has to control the fucking thing first and then momentum goes.
