One of the big problem England actually have is not finding any worth in the U21's and giving young players tournament experience (the most talented young players) and they are instead shoehorned into the senior squad full of older players with several failed tournament experiences between them. If they actually let the best young players play together and stay in U21's for a bit they could actually do very well in major U21's tournament and then bring that experience into an older bunch of losers who do nothing but fail.

Part of Roy's statement:

" I hope you will still be able to see an England team in a final of a major tournament soon."

Yeah, probably not in my lifetime you ****. The god I was around in 1966.

It's only now that I think how bad the last 3 tournaments have been. I'm 31 and Euro 96 is as good as I have had it.

Depressing really when you greatest moment for club is watch us win a trophy most people laugh at and for country its a defeat in a penalty shoot out.

Thing I need to give football up. Not sure why I do it to myself.

I hope Harry Kane's confidence isn't ruined, I know he has bounced back before but he has been woeful honestly, something like this can have a massive impact on you as a footballer.

I am not trying to make excuses here but could it also be the tough premier league schedule that impacts our international performances so much?

No I actually think it will make him have a better season for us. This will make him stronger as long as we stick by him

Roy Hodgson resigns as England manager. A decent and dignified man but will forever be remembered for losing to tiny Iceland.

Hooh boy, Gary not holding back on the truth.

That's not the truth. The truth is he was totally fucking clueless tactically and picked players when they were playing like shit. The guy was a fucking clown.

So who's everyone going for to win the whole thing?

Might as well have a wee bet on.

Probably go for Germany.

I've already got money on Germany and France. Wish I'd had some money on Italy now. 16/1 before the tournament started.
