Part of Roy's statement:

" I hope you will still be able to see an England team in a final of a major tournament soon."

Yeah, probably not in my lifetime you ****. Thank god I was around in 1966.
Maybe that's the final Roy was talking about.

Why was Woy continuing letting Kane drown himself by keeping him on those free kicks and corners? Just ridiculous tbh.

Allis ball control and passing worries me sometimes, technique is lacking. Not much different to some of the more experienced players tbf though.

Too much too soon for Alli.

why can't any of our players actually compose themselves in the final third. Just take a split second longer and pick someone out. Its laughable really.

I supported England in World Cup 90 in Italy. Since then I haven`t found much pleasure in watching England (with a few exceptions). If we think about the size of your country, your football league, your general physics as average western europeans with also lots of muscular afro-british citizens, your sports fascilities etc., there`s no logical reason why England have a poor team compared to Germany, Italy, France, Holland, Belgium or Spain.

Especially compared to Holland and Belgium it`s a mystery why you don`t achieve more on the pitch with that players and team.

Many factors really. The league is overly dependent on foreign players (big money TV deals don't help). Combine that with the traditionally archaic attitudes to coaching that have only started getting better in recent years.

It's not a mystery - it's all to do with the structure of our coaching at local, club and national levels.

There's a reason England has less coaches per player head than pretty much every other successful European team.

I just hope this failure doesn't compound the disastrous end to the season we had for the Spurs players. Poch is going to have to really clear their minds when they all come back.

Gabby Logan hitting Joe Hart with the tough words. Good to see.

It's simply because England do not have the quality of players the media like to think they do - England produce technically inferior players to the majority of European (careful) countries. The reason for this has to be down to the coaching from early ages up and a complete lack of focus on U21's, etc. I honestly think that if you take an average eastern European international player (or virtually any other European region) you will see a technically skilled better player than virtually any England international. Every now and again England produce a player that has decent technical ability but they are surrounded by 9 or 10 others who can barely make a 5 yard pass.

Its true now and it's been true for the past 40 years.

Yeah, you could see he was unhappy with the question. He said the usual soundbites, but the fact remains, the England team just doesn't ever gel together, nor does it work hard or passionately enough. They just don't concentrate.
