mistake playing Andy King, he was very ineffective. Vokes should have started.
He wasn't very good was he? I think suspensions cost them, if they'd had Davies and Ramsey maybe they'd have made a better go of it. You could see the lack of quality in the back-ups when they came on, they started to look a bit like England :woot:

I wish he had been that.

The Ramsey suspension was the killer here, he was by far our best player and really is some talent. Wenger completely wastes that talent.
Ramsey raised his game so much after the England game, for the first two I thought he was awful and I know a lot of others did too. Brilliant against Russla and Belgium.

after Bale and Ramsey the quality of Wales attacking players really drops off. With Ramsey gone it was always a long shot. Even with Ramsey, top to bottom Portugal is a better squad.

this must be the lowest quality tournament ever. Barely any good performances save for a couple of underdogs turning up. Tactically dull af, no stand out players. Been incredibly boring.

Oddly I've enjoyed this tournament more than any other ;)

Portugal set out their stall at the beginning of the game as they have with all their games and have said to the opposition come on then. Wales in the first half couldn't break them down so effectively Portugal won the 1st half and their message to Wales was same thing 2nd half now you will have to change to get anything out of this game. Wales were then put on the back foot by the two quick goals and they could not recover from it.

Wales did better than I expected but I fear their best chance in a tournament went last night.

after watching a large amount of welsh fans who were in a large ballroom type place and they were celebrating as if they had won the world cup the derby and the grand national all at once ; this happened when the final whistle went at the end of the Iceland match.now I am a very average person who loves his country and really wants our England team to do well in all sports and I was firmly behind the welsh team until I witnessed the display of happiness and joy shown by the welsh fans at the moment England got beaten.i now know that the welsh and the scots get as much joy at England getting beaten than almost anything else.i could not hang this label on the northern irish as they showed almost as much dismay at the England defeat as I did so for me f...k the welsh I am overjoyed they got beat last night

Well that's like West Ham fans hating all of us because they see some Spurs fans as arrogant.

For what its worth I didn't take any pleasure from them losing. I don't support England (although I did get a bit caught up in Euro 96) in the same way that I don't support Scotland or Northern Ireland or won't be supporting Leicester in the CL....its not my team.

I suspect the people you saw were rugby types or possibly North Walians (where the anti English sentiment tends) to be stronger.
I've watched England matches in local pubs during various tournaments and the vast majority of people either don't care either way or support you lot.

Come on mate, see the bigger picture!

Yep, equally cringeworthy
(y) fair play

Although in our defence we've been dogshit and nowhere a tournament for years so getting to the last 4 for a little country like us is quite an achievement.

And they deserve a homecoming celebration for allowing me to go to France twice in the last few weeks....although the marital atmosphere is still a little icy in my house
