Just read on today's paper version Kicker. The negotiation between Bayern and Dortmund is at an impasse. Dortmund absolutely refused to pay more than €25m, and Bayern is not willing to back down.

Nah not having it. In my mind he's a Dortmund player now. Not pulling me back in. :stop::shifty:

Lol and Levy will?

There is more chance of the pope converting to islam than there is Levy agreeing to pay either the fee, or wages, needed to get Gotze

Don't do this to yourself

They might sell for substantialy less to a foreign team a la Modric.

Even if they did there is the issue of wages, an even bigger one than the fee

Gotze can sign a pre contract with a non German club for free in Jan so will expect a substantial pay rise for his next contract

Possibly not as he could then ask for humongous wages instead. I guess that can be circumnavigated by a large signing on fee, but I think others would be able to match or beat our offer and by then we might not be playing CL football either ?

Have to agree with this, the allure of earning a bosman must be very strong, you can get yourself crazy wages due to lack of fee. Look at Charlie Austin last season. Sorted for life due to running his contract right down.

Another example is walcott's crazy wages due to the goons crapping themselves over the cost to replace him (should have let him go!). Its why I said these Eriksen and Lamela new deals were so important previously.

I'm sure we'd explore the possibility if Gotze is back on the market but again I just think the wages will prove a bridge too far.
