So my reading is, as it stands GKN is the only incoming. However should we sell Chadli, Mason, Carroll and maybe even Bentaleb, there'll be room then for maybe one more incoming. All about the squad space and balance. Don't want a bloated squad, have to move some out to create space for incoming.

Basically the same as every season. We need to recoup some cash too and at the moment we can get rid of a couple of attacking midfielders to do so. If we do we will be active until the last minute of the window, same as every season. i would have thought that the club wouldn't want to miss out on any potential good deal/player that might appear in the last week of the window.

Pretty sensible as well, we have heard about the vast potential of the main 3 even 4 including ccv youth players with Winks, Onomah and Edwards. We can't just add another decent player to the squad who won't actually be better than the first 11 without blocking their growth.

We need 2 players for every position realistically plus some youth knocking about. This is how I'd think about the team.

Lloris Vorm
Walker Trippier
Rose Davies
Alder CCV
Vert Wimmer
Dier Wanyama
Dembele Winks
Alli Onomah
Lamela Son
Eriksen Nkoudou
Kane Janssen

Then we have Mason, Yedlin.

You know maybe that is a bit light and we could add some players if we sell Chadli and Carroll which I suspect we will but again it'll be difficult to balance the growth of these starlets with adding more names.

We have done our business early for like the first time since Levy has run the show, further signings would be nice but least our buys have had a pre season for once

Doesn't work like that at all though. That is why we have quite a few players that can play multiple positions.

We always do business early. Not all of it admittedly, but it's a complete falsehood that we don't sign players early on.

Agree that this is sensible in theory but the drop off in experience and/or quality in those two bolded areas is a concern for me.

The league will be tougher and in Europe we've swapped Azerbaijani plumbers for the elite.

One of the smartest things Redknapp ever did was sign Gallas the summer before we played Champions League.

The experience and leadership he showed was vital in our run to the quarters (he was a colossus in the game vs AC Milan at the Lane) and I think this squad is crying out for a player like that in CM.

If we want continuity of camaraderie in the squad, especially the back bone players of the squad jusg keep them happy whicn will result kn a ripple effe t throughout the team, on anx off fhe field. But make them earn it!

I expect others have already commented , but its still a surprise to me that there is no Transfer window frenzy in here this year .

Everything quiet...Poch is quoted saying he wants more ins....few seem that bothered .

Used to be the busiest time on SC all year . Anyone know why TW frenzy is absent ?

Perhaps for once, people are quite content with the team we have with no gaping holes that need addressing.

A. Club crackdown on ITK.

B. Our early activity in the window.

C. Even if Poch said that he wanted to sign another 5 players, most on here would say that it was just his grasp of the English language and that he actually meant that he was never going to sign another player again.

However...

Secretly we all hope for a last minute VdV like present.

Yep , all of these points ^...also mebbe the mods are tougher on subjects drifting away from ITK , so between that and less ITK arriving .... also yeh somehow Poch has calmed things .

However ,the TW madness was entertaining and a good way to get donations from the very large numbers coming. I wonder if the site doesn't miss it . After all , sites like SC thrive on large numbers of visitors .

We are just used to Harry, Sherwood, Kemsley opening their gob to all and sundry about our transfer activity. Poch is very different so there will be a lot less ITK under Poch

We've already got the best squad in the league and our principal need is stability. Hence no mad maverick transfer drama

I think there should be more news of outs before in. Moving Bentelab, Pritchard, Caroll, Chadli and Fazio first and a shocker out of no where for Isco.:D

Er.... I mean Isco type of player....

Go through our rivals' squads and you'll see one or two gaps like this where you'll see a huge drop off in quality from the first teamers, just goes to show it's not easy trying to maintain a squad with great backups in every position.
