I don't disagree with your statement just your hypocrisy. You are gullible. Your sole line of debate is our decision makers are all better placed than the fans to do their jobs so, er, there is no debate.

LOL OK M8

I'll remember to default to whatever opinion you have in the future because you are clearly the most insightful and knowledgeable poster on here

But, as a naive fan, it seemed at long last that the manager had a tight team all pulling in the same direction. It hasn't quite felt like that with transfers recently, just my impression.

Maybe it's just growing pains but I just hope the ship steadies.

In what way mate? We got the two holes in our squad filled relatively quickly with players the manager wanted. The KGN stuff is dragging but I can assure you it has nothing whatsoever to do with Mitchell.

So do you think we're still after concluding a deal for him?

So the team that last season had the joint best attack, the best defence, the top scoring striker and the best young player in the league. Who has recently strengthen the two weakest areas in the squad and will have the benefit of another years experience after the title chase of last year, is now destined to finish 6th/7th because we haven't signed more players?

Okay mate.
I think you need to remember that we did finish 3rd and 11 points behind the winners as well as losing out to the gooners for 2nd. I am not saying because we have not signed a lot more players than the 2 we got just that there is definitely a case for someone who is used to winning things and help the young lads along when the pressure becomes intense as it did towards the end of the season. My reasoning for the lower finish is the quality with which the other sides have strengthened and that the cover for Dembele has not been acquired as I think he was badly missed at times last season when unavailable. Still hoping that the extra years experience will be beneficial and we can tear it up this season but I am just voicing an opinion.

What would you have liked to have seen happen. We've gotten the two most important pieces of business done very early by our standards. You can't look at the dealings of Man Utd, Chelsea, City etc and hope or realistically wish to emmulate them - we don't have that kind of financial power.

We've signed two players who will play a big part in our season (as long as they remain fit) - we've done the minimum that all of us hoped we would - and we still have three weeks left of the window to pick up something else - BUT - we don't really NEED to.

Our transfer business has been great this window, so far. Poch has plugged the holes in the squad he needed to and we're in a position where we have two players for every position with a wealth of youth behind them - anything after that, literally, is a bonus.

I'd agree that the reason we lost out at the end of last season was through inexperience, but I think the fact that we have a team that went through that disappointment and with them being so young, the hunger to not let that happen again as a squad beats any experience a single seasoned pro could bring. That collapse at the end of last season could be the making of this current side.

Last years experience for a very young team will be invaluable. No one knows how the teams speanding heavily - mainly Man City and Man Utd - are going to do. Both have new managers who will have the task of trying to integrate a clutch of new signings who might not even gel straight away. Where as our settled young team already know what is asked of them and will only improve with age and experience. Writing us off this season is foolish.

Might have 2 players for every position but i'm not sure the 3 we have covering AM are good enough !

One of my concerns, though there could also be an upside, is that they both know the strength of the Spurs youth coming through.
Go to the right clubs and they might dangle carrots and some may be tempted.
Alternatively, they might help to present opportunities for players to go on loan.

Like Inglethorpe came back for Kevin Stewart

Maybe not, but we're not Man City. To bring a player in of the quality you would want but then expect him to sit on the bench for the majority of the time can only happen if we were in a position to throw money at the individual.

Guess we'll have the traditional Tottenham Hotspur final week shop around.

Didn't think it was gonna happen this time round. My ignorance amuses me

Across the net people are claiming that Mitchell is leaving because Poch preferred Njie to GKN. Is there any actual ITK that supports this or are people just drawing speculative conclusions?

That's what the report says from the French article I believe, I assume that's where everyone is getting their info from.

I'd call this as bullshit of the highest order... For it to be true Mitchell would have to be something of a precious little bitch.
