Be realistic people. Until that stadium is paid for we won't be spending any money. We just have to hope we don't fall off a cliff in the meantime.

This argument doesn't really add up, because the stadium more than pays for itself. Extra seats, extra boxes, extra hospitality, third-party leasing of venue, NFL money, the new TV money: all that income is guaranteed over time, and is not dependent on team performance. (Financing could even survive relegation.)

Nor is it dependent on how Spurs itself is being run day-to-day. There is no imperative to hit profit targets in order to finance the stadium. I expect Spurs to be run the exact same in the next 5 years as in the last 5; a tight ship, modestly profitable, punching above its weight. Since we were never going to start spunking megabucks on Galacticos before the stadium, so I don't expect us to do it going forward either. So it's no change, not a worsening of the situation.

Why don't we try speaking to the player instead of their dads? (n)

probably done under the guise of a door to door double glazing salesman......

"hi, can i interest you in a nice new set of windows in tempered glass oh and by the way, get your son to sign for us and i'll throw in a conservatory for 25% off"

If we are currently renegotiating his buyout clause I do hope Levy eases his stance.

He is the perfect big name signing for us. If there is a chance we should be going balls deep on it. Even if that means we pay that little bit more to get the deal done.

Do we know what his buyout clause is?
It will be huge, $135 mil reported by the Mail. Even if it's not that much, it will be massive, the big Spanish clubs put huge buy-outs so nobody will ever activate them. Messi's was 250 mil (think it's gone up now). RM won't be expecting us to pay Isco's buy out (how ever much it really is) but I would imagine the difficulty of this deal will be arranging the future fee.

From hertyid on COYS re: ISCO

I waited all day to hear back from my guy on this. He's currently in Malta, no idea why.
He says it's not bullshit, we have been speaking with his dad all week (?), Madrid want him away at least one year on loan and we have been trying to negotiate a deal with them that gets around his buyout clause for the permanent option next summer (I don't know what this is).
Will come down to the player, apparently Milan (or Inter, I could work out who he meant) also chasing. Player doesn't really want to leave Madrid but game time likely to be limited.

Sweet.

I'm getting 'Francisco Román Alarcón Suarez Tottenham Hotspur 2016-17 loan with an option to get gazumped' tattooed on my cock as we speak.

Yeah they're other forums. Unfortunately you've probably just been pre-banned from COYS for not knowing who they are.

He is probably in the £40
Million bracket. Ozil territory. Hold on, why are we even discussing him!
