'Involved' is the complete opposite word to describe his contribution to us in matches IMO. I have no bad feeling towards him, but he was often anonymous in matches, and didn't even have a high work-rate to make up for it. His goalscoring record in 14/15 was good, but I think we have the players to make up for any loss due to Chadli's departure.

He made 28 appearances in the league, but only played 1100 minutes, which equates to 12 full matches, scored 4 assisted 1. Played 7 Europa league games, 500 minutes, equates to 5 full matches scored, scored 3 and assisted 3. I think he did ok last year, had that injury which kept him out for a quite a while and were not even sure if he fully recovered from the injury as it was not a conventional injury per se. He adjusted better to the EPL than Lamela did and has had a much better first season than Lamelas second. He could do well this season I hope he does.

The sad thing is imo there will be one loser this season as we have 3 players going for one position (LW)

I struggle to see how Son will improve if he keeps on playing out of position.

When playing as a inside forward, it is harder to switch wings, as your body position is all of a sudden wrong. You cant attack with the same angle on the other side as it wont be on your stronger foot so you have to learn a new way of playing.

One thing we saw a lot last season is the ball getting caught in Son's feet, this is likely to do with him overthinking as what to do and trying to do what he would naturally do.

He has been good off the ball but on the ball with 2 banks of four in front/around him and he has struggled

He should be coached to consistently attack space, it'll open things up a bit for everyone, no one in the midfield does this.

Apropos of nothing, I've always thought it a shame that no one's national cuisine involves seagulls. They could literally clean up in Cardiff.

And you won't find a more appropriate and grammatically correct use of the word "literally" on this site.

According to Bild we told Wolfsburg the price is EUR 40m and while they were only willing to pay EUR 32m in August they may pay the 40m in Jan if they sell Draxler to PSG.

Can't we just swap him for Draxler. I like Son, and hope he improves, but I'm a big fan of Draxler...

He is going to come good..he is the kind of player we need around here. Keeps the ball, good off-the-ball movement, some pace, young, hungry...he isn't going to win you a game on his own but we have CL this year so there are enough games to go around for 4 or even 5 AMs..
