His wrong pass resulted in the goal for Hoffenheim and looking at comments on reddit and forums some people don't want him in starting 11, although other than Howedes and Fahrman everyone is playing poorly.

Reports in Germany from Bild that they want to send him back to us. They're not impressed.

Which shows he's obviously not learning having done exactly same for us beginning of last season.

I know he's young etc but there are just some basics you got to learn from and seems sadly he's a bit too arrogant to do so, having shown such early promise for us.

Really surprised at the level of negativity about this guy. He had a really solid season for us and then got injured. This rewriting of history that he "always passes to the opposition in dangerous areas" is absolute nonsense - he's a young player who makes mistakes.

He might never achieve the heights that some thought he might but the amount of glee in this thread about his current struggles is not great tbh. We don't have to play the spurned lover card here people!

I think the whole issue people have is that we supported him when he first broke into the team and championed him and his story but this clear turn in attitude has really soured many people's views on him. From pretty much demanding more money/longer contracts through his interviews with the newspapers to apparently giving Poch an ultimatum "Play me or let me leave" it seems he got too big for his britches. We know he's a good player but it's his attitude we have an issue with.

Schalke fans told me he is the only player they are happy with at the beginning of the season. Everyone else is playing sideways, Nabil at least tries something. I guess he wouldn't be a regular starter if they want to send him back.

Apparently they are saying both his performances and attitude have been poor.

But surely @Bus-Conductor knows more than Poch. Bentaleb is the greatest thing since sliced bread...

No but he might know more than the German equivalent of The fucking Sun newspaper as he's actually watched four or five of the games and Bentaleb was one of Schalke's better players in at least 2/3 of them, inc Bayern. In his first game he set up a goal, and a penalty with through balls as well as a goal saving tackle. He didn't set the world alight tonight, but still got through more ball than anyone else ahead of the defence.
