#thfc Nabil Bentaleb not complementary about English fans in Bild: "If you lose there, nobody supports you in the stadium." (via @uersfeld)

Dan Kilpatrick ‏@Dan_KP 2h2 hours ago
  2. #thfc Bentaleb: "Even if Tottenham were on top of the league, I would not regret my transfer. They believe in me at Schalke." #S04

Dan Kilpatrick ‏@Dan_KP 2h2 hours ago
  3. Bentaleb: "I very much liked Zinedine Zidanes’s playing style...[he] allowed me to dream. Right now, I think Busquets & Kroos are great."

That's just Bentelab all over. Compare that with class shown by players like Mason and Townsend. He's a bad character, who over estimates his own abilities. It's all about him, him, him. He was got rid of, no matter how he spins it. Won't be long before he saying he forced the move so he could go to a bigger club or something.

what's he said that's so wrong? even on here there have been many threads saying how toxic the atmosphere at whl can get and as for the 2nd part it's obvious the club don't believe in him otherwise they wouldn't have let him go in the first place.

I feel like Nabil got more support than pretty much anybody. He was a real fan favourite tbh... so his comments are surprising.

Compare that with Soldado's comments after he left about how much support he received despite his poor performances it's pretty much the complete opposite story.

Why does he or his agent even feel the need to phone up bild and do an interview? And he's got previous for this. The atmosphere's only got anything near toxic in the AVB/Sherwood year, when's it been since Poch came here? Probably Poch's biggest mistake was giving him a decent contract. I actually think he's uncoachable and the only player in and around the first team he was not able to improve. “I personally love to control the game, as with Pirlo. I want to have my foot on the ball and touch it often." This is how he thinks of himself. But he hasn't got Pirlo's brain and plays passes quicker than his is able to process the picture in front of him and often misses an obvious danger.

I just hope the deal with Schalke goes through at the end of the year as the last thing we want is him ever coming back here.

well you can't just dismiss those eras because they don't suit your agenda and in the first few months of poch being here when we were getting turned over at home by the likes of stoke, west brom and newcastle it wasn't great either. besides, he didn't specifically say spurs fans, he said english fans and he's right, the atmosphere inside german stadiums is generally much more positive from start to finish. he's only said what has been said on here countless times and it's pure assumption on your part that he contacted bild rather than vice versa.

Its basic, he clearly has an ego, anyone that tries to defend that is blinded by him being a 'youth product' and just wishing he would progress with us. He never will learn, Poch has made it clear that the team is important, not an individual, are we suffering without him - no, are we a better team without him - yes.

Some players have people around them that influence them in a negative way and it's unfortunate, if he was as good as he believed, he would have proved to Poch in training and in games that he can't be dropped. We have the best training facilites in the country, one of the best stadiums on the way, one of the best managers in the world for promoting youth and in the best league in the world. If Bentaleb couldn't see any of this, then he is an idiot and to me he didn't want to roll his sleeves up because the likes of Dembele, Dier, Wanyama, Winks, Onomah was too much competition for him.

All the best for him, but it will never be with our club and i'm not sad one little bit because he just keeps proving Poch right each time he opens his mouth.

It was clear from the moment he made those demands for a new contract on the media.
He's not the kind of player I want at this club, and thankfully not the kind Poch wants either

Unnecessary comments, short sighted too considering that he might be back here in a year's time if his form doesn't pick up. The Pirlo comment is just ridiculous, I wish that he even remotely resembled Pirlo. I won't go over board with my criticisms but Bentaleb, bar two games against Arsenal and Chelsea, never gave me the sort of performance I was from a midfielder. I'm glad he's gone.

his form has been fine. the view of bild doesn't correlate to that of schalke fans, here's a few recent posts from one of their forums (the translations are a bit sketchy but you get the gist):

Bentaleb has the potential to be the architect of the new Schalke, to say the new Schalke should be guided by his skills, so if he is on the ball, all offensive players should movements by looking at the space, to give him the opportunity in those space to

Such game is not without risk.Since I and our game can not do without him, the risk has to be accepted;with all risk implies.Would anyone be Manuel Neuer Attacking Goalkeeper game ban because it could mean that he, if he makes a mistake directly provoked a goal?Türlich not.

His spieleröffenenden flat passes are really great. You do not see so often in the league. At Schalke I have to think twice when I've last seen.Has a bit of what Lincoln, even if it is of course a completely different type of player.

I do not understand the discussion. Player like him who also aggressively trying times which are, from time to time make mistakes (also expensive). But that is dearer to me than if constantly played back to Rail. When he has the ball, it is likely that we will forward to score.
The interface passes are awesome, similar to that of Matip often. So please keep it up.

For me, again the secret star of the game.Just always playable, which is so important for the players.

horny right now been on EMCM and usual strong way.is a very important building block in our champion team

I hope above all that we sign him.

Class Pass with great vision to 4: 0!

yes there are some posts saying he needs to find a balance between being aggressive and risky but there are none saying he's been poor or that he's a flat out bad player. also i'd have thought you and other fans would have learnt by now not to write off young players for having flaws in their game or what you perceive to be a poor attitude, or both:
I have never disliked a spurs player as much as I dislike Danny Rose. I can forgive him being an awful left back, he can't be better than his ability and athleticism allow him to be, but he has the worst attitude imaginable in a modern day footballer. Odious little shit.

like nabil, rose was never shit. he had his faults but he also had plenty of very obvious positive attributes that were unfortunately ignored by the majority. i can understand writing off a player at 27 if they still have those same faults but at 20-21 it's just foolish to say what that player can't do or what they can't become.

Rose never had attitude problems like Bentaleb.

Even though he always appeared to me as plain average, Bentaleb's problems are of attitude. Attitude off the pitch. He thinks he's better than the club. He always has, even though we gave him a chance when no one wanted him.
He has the same attitude as Taarabt imo, and I wouldn't be shocked if he ends up the same way

You went back two years in time to find a post about Rose to show what exactly? That I got one wrong. I've got far more than that wrong rest assured. Makes me no less confident in my opinion that Bentaleb like a midfielder I want to see to me does not look like.

He was my favorite player 2014-2015. Now I couldn't care less whether he comes back or not. I'm sure if we do get 17m for him it would be of better use to us.
