What's truly shocking is that only 2 have come through Premier league academies (Iwobi and Iheanacho) and only one Englishman (Alli). No wonder the England team is struggling.

Yes, there are Chelsea and Man City players on the list but they've been bought and then loaned out. Something needs to be done with the PL clubs as either the youth scouting or coaching obviously leave a lot to be desired.

edit - Forgot Gray was on there so make it two Englishman

Nah, mate. He's shit and does nothing but score the odd worldy according to some of the brains trust on here.
Yep! Good player with lots and lots of potential, but is over hyped and in my opinion not the best under 21 despite what you and Four Four Two may think. Love him as a Spurs player and am always willing him to do well, but I dont wear lily white tinted glasses.

That raises the question, should we have a reserve team and league like we used to have?

Alli is the most exciting player we have had at Spurs in years. His potential is unbelievable.

He runs in behind
He scores from everywhere
He has an immense amount of skill
He's confident
He could play anywhere on the pitch
He has amazing fitness
He knows the dirty side
He has a bit of bite.
He only cost 5 mil
He's best than Ozil

Well fourfourtwo redeemed themselves somewhat in my eyes after rating Poch the only 19th best manager of 2016, with the likes of Koeman ten places ahead. Was well ready to get on my high horse regarding anti-Spurs conspiracy making had they not got this one right, but they did so ok.

Yep, agree, and I can do without the silly "Oh yeah he's shit mate" eye rolling on here as if anyone thinks that, like we should just accept that all our players are amazing without comment.

F365 review of him for England sums up so many of his Spurs games;

"DELE ALLI: I like Dele, I really do, but in his last few games for England, he has looked worryingly casual. Nobody should be getting dispossessed five times by Malta; nobody should be losing the ball a further three times with a poor touch. When contrasted with the energy and movement of Lingard, Alli looked a bit too comfortable with his England place. He should be gently reminded of the existence of Adam Lallana.

Scored once but really should have been a hat-trick; he hit the keeper with his header and then should have scored from a late chance created by Marcus Rashford. If we gave numbers, he would have been lucky to get a 7 despite the goal."

That tells me 442 don't know shit, so what makes this one "right"?

You can D'oh me all you want, fella, he's not better than Ozil. I go on things like facts not heart-warming feelings.

Very glad to have him, he's progressing great, going to be amazing, lots to learn. Nowt wrong with saying that

I'll leave the fan clubs to the children
The song's tongue in cheek u willy, and u felt the need to go dig out your precious little stats lol....that's what the doh rating's for.

Oh right, I see. Entirely missed that was a reference to his song, coming as it did amid post after post of straight faced nonsense, my bad

"Precious little stats" - yes, damn those pesky facts, always popping up and ruining everyone's fun.

I've got no idea if he's the "best" U21 in the world, I don't watch enough football to make that sort of assertion. I do know the criticism he's been getting on here is ridiculous.

Next gerard? Very poor comparison imo. If he is to play in the n10 position more often he needs to really work on turning with the ball and that first touch which seems predictable right now. Hes got a frustrating knack of turning into defenders and veing predictable in that sense. A top quality young player though.

Just to add....Vdv was epic on the turn and with hus back to goal!! God i miss him still:cry:

Ali is only 19-20 yes old vdv was in his late 20's give the kid time
