With all due respect, it doesn't read any different to many manager's interviews. He said similar things a few months before leaving Southampton.

How do you know he didn't mean it at Southampton?

I get the impression that he intended to be at Southampton for the long haul, he was invested in the project Cortese had going there he even highlights it as the biggest factor in that interview. Everything changed for him at Southampton when Cortese was pushed out of the club.

Did he see his Southampton contract out or come to us midcontract

The situation at Southampton changed dramatically. The owner died and his family refused to keep putting in the same amount of his money into the club.

Staff started leaving and as we have seen The Saints have consistently sold players without properly reinvesting for years now.

There is always a danger that a great offer will come in and a top player or manager might want to take it but I wouldn't use Poch leaving Southampton as a reference for anything.

He's not going anywhere. He's young so has all the time in the world to achieve his ambitions. He's managing in the most competitive league in the world and is building an amazing young team. I also get the impression he's loyal. Maybe that wishful thinking but I'm sticking with it. Unless something goes horribly wrong between himself and Levy he's here for a while yet.

What about when he left Esponal or whatever other managerial jobs he has had?

I'm just interested due to China man's statement about poch being a man of honour

I know Wenger is famed for always seeing out any contract he ever signs and never breaking it

Has Poch done that? I'm assuming from your post that he was still contracted to Southampton when he came to us

I'm not sure how confident I would be about him wanting to stay if Barca made a serious move for him

I suppose it would depend how invested he is in our project vs how ambitious he is to manage at the top level at a club like Barca

I don't know if he's even on the radar of clubs like Barca but if he is my gut instinct would say he'd probably be very interested in the job

Asked if he would be staying if Cortese left, the Argentinian said: "Of course not, because the person that has put his faith in me in this club and as a manager is Nicola Cortese.

"Me on a personal sense, I would not understand a Southampton without Nicola being here.

"When I first arrived here, nobody knew who Mauricio Pochettino was. Nicola put his faith in me and knew me from way, way back.

"When I got to know his project, we were basically on the same wavelength as to what we wanted for Southampton in the future.

"Basically, my future in Southampton has to be with Nicola."

Was fired from Espanyol and it's highly unlikely he would go tout Barca seeing as he played and managed Barca who are fierce rivals.

Highly unlikely becuase they wouldnt want a man who represents their rivals managing them or because he wouldn't want to manage them due to his connections to their rivals?

The latter, he's basically an icon in Espanyol and a very well respected person...put it thesis way it would be like Glenn Hoddle managing Arsenal.
