Few sources including The Mirror, saying that we are tracking Hoffenheim Striker Mark Uth...

Scored 5 in 10 this year, and hit double figures last season after a 20+ goal season in Holland in 14/15.

25 years old and 6ft1, contract expiring next year and "Is likely to cost £6m"...

Not sure what to make of this at all, seems to have similar traits to Kane, with a touch more pace? I'm a bit worried whenever we get linked with strikers nowadays imo...

Looks handy, certainly more mobile than Janssen...but another striker that feeds off of pullbacks and crosses. On the plus side, he looks as though he is a little more versatile...and he can score a penalty I guess...

Would be worth a £6m punt in today's market, but not the striker to take us higher I don't think:(

Only watched the 1st 2 goals and that was enough for me to be impressed. He showed both intelligence and confidence in front of goal with an excellent drag back and later a cheeky dink into the corner. Janssen would blast both attempts at the keeper. Definitely worth a punt at £6m. As is someone like Sebastian Haller.

Janssen scored more goals in one season in the same league than Uth did in two.

Yeah, but against that, Uth has showed he can make the step up to a tougher league like the Bundesliga, whereas Janssen is struggling in, the admittedly even tougher PL.

Has he? Uth scored 8 in 25 games last season, sometimes not even making the squad. He's only played 10 games this season, so I wouldn't say that he's proven in the Bundesliga yet.

I'd say 13 in 35 games is pretty respectable. Maybe not "proving himself" but he's scoring goals in a tough league.

and Defoe is scoring for fun for Sunderland... still doesn't mean we should re-sign him. Age aside he doesn't fit into our system and likewise Janssen is having the same problem.

At 6 million pounds he's worth a gamble.
What does that mean ? We really can't afford to bloat the squad and block the path of our young players with average players who are cheap. Either they are good enough or they aren't, being cheap and "taking a gamble" can't really factor in the equation for us now.

It'd be easy to get rid of him if things don't turn out - be it to Germany China or a fellow premiership club. No great risk to us

I like Haller as well, would take either, when we were looking at Janssen I did mention once or twice that Haller is an option that would be worth exploring as well!

Looks much more suited to us than Janssen.

If we want him then I really wouldn't wait till Summer as he will have more suitors and we need an adequate back up to Kane, if he gets injured.
