I kind of wish you could make your point with the condescension. However, we'll have to agree to disagree on Barkley as I believe he has excellent physical attributes that make him an ideal Poch player (tall, strong and quick) - I'd like to know exactly what you think. Physically, Barkley doesn't possess that Poch wants?

As for his mental attributes, I don't see how you can make a judgement on his character as he always seems to me to be a driven and committed player with a desire to win at all costs. He never hides in games which is the reason he gets stick. He always tries to keep playing the high risk, high reward ball which is exactly what Poch looks for.
Physical I agree completely that Barkley is very much a poch player.
To me mentally he comes up really short, doesn't seem to have that competitive edge at all and for a "creative midfielder" he has the worse vision and understanding of the game one could possibly have.

I don't agree I'm afraid. I think he sees things but is not yet able to pull them off. I think with good coaching he can be more consistent and turn into a top quality player.

Is it a risk? Of course but we're not in a position to sign the finished article and I think Poch could have as much of an impact on Barkley as he has our full backs

two very experienced prem players for two foreign players. We've been in that trap before
Two vastly overpriced average prem players, with very questionable mentalities. Versus two of the brightest attacking prospects in Europe, yeah I know which two I'd rather take a chance on.

I'd agree with u but I don't even really see him try play incisively for the most part. Plus when things aren't going his way and or the team is struggling he seems to hide and tends to play it safe and sideways.

See I disagree with this, I've not seen him hide, he always seem to play the Hollywood ball even when he's playing shit. I could be wrong on all this but I would be over the moon if we took a punt on him and got him for a reasonable price. I don't think we'll be able to sign anyone who is objectively better or had more potential than him for the money he'd cost.

Had a great game against City here

Janssen has come from nowhere, two years ago he was playing in the Dutch second division. These two have been playing at a top level for years and have always been highly rated. Both of them would be a lot more like eriksen then Janssen.

Guess u didn't see the Liverpool game, he does well when his team is at it, but when there struggling and they need someone to try and lift them he goes missing. and tbf if we could pay a reasonable price I wouldn't mind Barkley but that's never going to be the case.

Fair enough. I don't see us getting him anyway

Even the best players do that though. See dembele for evidence

I don't think Barkley is for us at the prices mentioned. This summer is going to be key in who we bring in and I don't think spunking £20/30 million on him would be worthwhile.

I'm not saying they were - but the poster I was replying to said sell Son to buy Barkley.

No I did not say that, read the post. I said Son could be unhappy with his lack of starts and that Barkley could be who we replace him with, not that I prefer Barkley to Son.

Ok I will rephrase, if Son is unhappy and wants to leave as he did at the start of the season due to lack of games could it be that we are planning to replace him with Barkley?

Not that I want this but I could see this happening.
