We can't keep moving on players after one season. What happens if we replace Jansen and the next guy struggles in his first season? I'd rather have Jansen here for another season. There are already signs that he is turning things around.

He has to be given time to adapt.

Countless were the number of people who said that Cane was not good enough and that he won't ever be good enough for the PL.

Let's not jump into conclusions just yet, we might regret it.

Unrealistic expectations? If you has said at the start of the season after we bought him he would score not a single prem goal bar penalty and one goal in all comps, what would you have said? This for the 2nd best team in the league.

How many goals has the first best team in the league's back-up striker (Batshuayi) got? You don't half talk some incredible amounts of bollocks.

He should and will be given more time. Most can see there is a player there. I think next year will be make or break for him though. Not suggesting 30 goals but a decent contribution will be expected.

Thought he did alright against Watford and shouldn't have come off. On another day, against another goalkeeper, maybe that turn and shot goes in. On another day, that thigh-level 'tap in' gets buried. With a little bit more confidence, maybe he makes more of an effort to get to Trippier's second cross. His hold up play was good and he put in a good shift. Just needs to stop wandering offside so much.

He's been like that all season. How many games does he do alright but say he was unlucky or on another day. At what point do we say he's not good enough? With 60-70 games a season we need someone who's better coming in to replace Kane. Or play with Kane. I admire Spurs fans not giving up on a player, but to me, he's championship level

Janssen was fine on Saturday. His turn and shot in the first half was exactly what I've been wanting to see from him, and Gomes produced a good save. As bad as the tap in chance looked, I'm happy to cut him slack there. The ball came past two/three defenders and the keeper to get to him and took at least one deflection meaning it more hit him than anything else.

If I were Poch on Saturday, I'd have found a way for us to get two up top when we bought Kane on, so that Janssen could see out the match and hopefully get that goal. Nevermind though, he's improving, and after a full preseason I think he'll be much more effective.

He does need time and I really hope we just try and work with him and develop him before being too rash.

I don't care about the miss on Saturday but I was a little disappointed with what he was doing when he wasn't looking to score, his first time lay offs weren't greatly successful on the day and he didn't hold the ball up and play a simple pass as well as he could have. I thought when Kane came on (even though he didn't do a great deal) he really showed the difference between the two. He came short, passed to the side, came short, turned, swivelled and ran towards goal or laid it off, plus he should have came away with a goal (from the header) and an assist (to Son who was one on one), it was kind of refreshing to see after seeing Janssen just kinda trying to fight up there.

On that display you could say that Janssen would be a lot more effective in away games when we're struggling to get a bit of a hold on the game.

I think it's a shame because IMO to really maximise his potential it's these types of games that he needs to be more involved in. Playing from the start, at home, with the best players at the club on the pitch at the same time but without a doubt with Kane now back his chances will be very limited again. You can almost sense the desperation in some of his play and him knowing he's kind of on a time limit to show what he can do I don't think helps.

I really don't see the problem with keeping Janssen. He's not really direct back up to Kane anyway - Son is. Having Kane/Son/Janssen as our striking options is as good as any other team in the league.

Who the fuck expected a 22 yr old with only one season in the dutch first division to come in and start banging them in anyway? He was clearly bought to develop and see if he could adapt. There is no harm in keeping him for another season. He'll be better next year, whatever happens, it's up to him after then if he wants to continue warming our bench or get first team football somewhere else.

I think there are two issues with Jansen... the first is his confidence, the second is physical. The latter is the biggest issue for me, he seems too sluggish, plays on his heels and lacks sharpness.

Poch changed Kane's body shape when he came to the club, working on making him more dynamic and explosive, which took his game to the next level.

This is what I feel Janssen desperately needs, if he is to succeed in the PL. It's not about being necessarily 'quick' but making him sharper and quicker off the mark.

Currently he's a bit of a throw back to a number 9 of old, which doesn't suit the modern PL, let alone the way we play. We have a fluid and dynamic team which just serves to make him stand out like a sore thumb.

It isn't about regular game time, this is something that is done through conditioning and work in the gym and hopefully something that's being worked on by the club.

Thankfully, both this and confidence are fixable.

For me the physical stuff can be worked on especially in the summer, I just think his confidence is what is affecting him at the moment. You can see it even when we were smashing in goals he just wasn't with it mentally and after than miss his head dropped. I think once he gets past the mental barrier he'll be alright though.

A lot of people wanted rid of Son after last season because "we could do much better". Son himself was all ready to move on because he struggled to come to terms with the EPL, until Poch talked him into staying because he saw a lot of potential in him.

I also think Janssen is worth another season but he will need to work on his limitations.

1. Anticipation
2. Speed up his footwork
3. Heading
4. First touch and close control
5. Stay onside
6. Speed off the mark and general pace
7. Intensity and aggression
8. Positioning
9. Composure
10. Shooting

I've listed a lot there but all are doable for someone hungry to improve and actually Harry Kane went through this process about three seasons ago and emerged vastly better player.

I'm thinking getting some spikes to practice sprinting, maybe do some dancing to get those feet working quicker and stay out on the training pitch after everyone else has gone home shooting, dribbling and heading.

Was a bit worried about Vincent but thankfully he only needs to improve 10 key areas of his game, work on his confidence and practise his dancing and he will be fine.

I don't have much faith in him when it comes to scoring goals but I expect him to get assist or two whenever he plays, he can spot those runs from Alli and Son. Once he gets more confidence hopefully he will bring goals to his game.
