Well, the estimated prize money for 2nd place is £144m from TV rights alone.

If my memory serves me correctly, a couple of years ago DL reportedly changed from high basic and lower bonuses to the other way around. That would mean that the more they won the more income the club would receive at the end of the season, making it sustainable. Now whether the income would allow for wages around the £120k pw we really have no idea. For sure we do need to be more competitive to try and keep our best players. For the players there is a balancing act between being at a successful club and getting more money at a lower placed club e.g. Man U, Citeh, Liverpuddle, Arsenal etc.
DL has brought the club into a very successful position in terms of league position and the new stadium will in due course help the finances. I trust him to get the balance right
