Keep telling yourself that.

If we were to start selling first team players to premier league rivals again, then in my view it's a monumental act of self harm. I'd rather us leave the players to rot on the bench. Or pay them to stay at home.

We should not be in the business of helping our competition improve in any way shape or form. Let them shop elsewhere, let Walker get on with the disappointment like Modric did.

Like it or not, what I have said is more realistic to happen....

You say 'Let Walker get on with the disappointment like Modric did'. You forget Poch is not Harry. After Ade, Townsnend, Kaboul, Bentaleb, I know that if Walker did asked to go out in summer, there is no way he will be forcibly kept in squad. Poch will move him on one way or other.

Lets hope that another non-PL club comes for him. Personally, I cant see it. But don't be disappointed, if none came with decent money & we sell him to City

Sure, but you seem to think that Poch can get away with acting like Fergie at the height of United's powers, and flog his top players. What you may be forgetting, is that Fergie sold the likes of Keane, Beckham, and Stam to teams in different leagues.

This does not make any sense...United under Fergie cannot be compared to Spurs under Poch from a transfer perspective.

Why? They will be much better next year and probably buy some decent center backs. Walker will be up and down the touchline with a lot of the balll all game. He's ideal for city.

We have seen in last 4 summers that spending and getting new players is not the answer for these rich clubs. It has not worked for them. Pep has always worked with intelligent players especially at RB. Walker is not a intelligent player. He is more mechanical. He defends, gets the ball, bombs forward , tries to cross but he most likely will hit the first man. He will improve them, but he is not going to be Pep's ideal player at RB. If Pep doesnt get his CBs right, Walker could become a headache for him.

Then why would he go for Walker? City could get any right back in the world?

This is straw clutching of the highest order.

What is ? My God you are thick...You talk about some nonsense comparing Fergie's United transfer situation and Poch's Spurs situation...You say I am clutching at straws...:banghead:

What I am saying is very very simple. Let me summarise : Walker is a PL proven player & won't be surprised if we get a 40m offer from City. "If" Walker had asked us to move him on, Poch will most likely sell him, and that could be City. If we do sell Walker for 40m, we could buy a key attacking player like Barkley or Zaha and promote Trippier & KWP for RB spot...As for as Walker improving City, could happen as he is far better than Sagna. City could have bought Sidibe who could be even better than Walker. You never know. What we have to look at is, will Walker replaced by Trippier would degrade us...I dont think Trippier playing RB would degrade us in anyway. So, if we are going to get Barkley or Zaha then so be it.

If all else fails throw insults. I'm done discussing anything with you.

Call me naive but I don't think anyone we don't want to sell will leave.

I think it's a case of what came first the chicken or the egg. We don't want to sell Kyle Walker. But once he's had his head turned and becomes distracted, he becomes less useful to us, and so we become more receptive to selling him.

Where do we draw the line?

I think one of the corner stones of Pochs managerial style is dressing room harmony. If one of our players are agitating for a move, I don't think that Poch will stand in their way, unless he can convince them that their ambitions can be fulfilled at this club.

All very wel, but doesn't help the team if Alli or Kane say they want to leave

Oh lordy lordy, where to begin?

What is it with these no mark 'journalists' almost relentlessly having snide digs at spurs???
It seems no matter how well we play, or high up the league we are, they find an angle for criticism.

On this week's installment....

Somehow we are simultaneously underachieving and over achieving.
Sly remarks about Poch being the same age as Pep but not having won a trophy.
The inevitable we are a one man team and are useless without Kane.
Kane to Utd/Madrid/etc.
Basically not one complimentary or positive remark.

In a season if we were 8th and being 'spursy' (sorry) I could understand or at least tolerate it. But we're 2nd, FA cup semi finalists, and the only team that look half capable of pushing Chelsea were they to slip up.

Why? Why are we so disliked, or at best, sneered at?

Fake news

I see you got a "watch it" for your "thick" comment. I can't say I blame you, in the face of the condescending attitude of your protagonist, with his "clutching at straws", "keep telling yourself that", and "spinning" comments, and his sarcastic "funny" marks. As I read them, I did wonder myself, as did you, about his intelligence. I can't say I have a great deal of respect for whoever issued the "watch it".

I don't care if Walker is replaceable. We shouldn't be selling players to rivals. Full stop.

But think on this, how many ex-Southampton Poch players have gone on to improve or maintain their levels elsewhere? Walker might be great at City, he might also be a Lovren or Llalanabanana
