I love Vic. What a fantastic signing he has been. An absolute monster. Some of the posts at the start of this thread are hilarious reading back.
Most of these threads have some absolute howlers in the first 5/10 pages it's brilliant, why people are so quick to display their awful judgement never fails to make me laugh.
Obv the Harry Kane one is the best, but there are some real gems in most of them.

Ok, ok with the ribbing for this.

If I'm wrong - which is rare - I bend over and take the reaming; but Vic had had a bang average season, pre our signing him, and if you go over to SCBC's forum and look at the posts on the perspective sale of him to us you'll find they were not overly fussed at the prospect of losing him at the time because of it (and that says a lot as they are typically deeply bitter at us taking their players).

It was certainly a reasonable assessment to make at the time.

Watched a lot of him at S'ton due my interest in poch and this season is the best I've ever seen him perform. The latter half of this season, especially, he turned into a baller.

Also, has he had a red for us yet?? Can't remember him getting one. Poch has seemed to have successfully knocked that right out of him.

Anyway, gladly take the L on him and Son if the goods are being produced for the team. (y):finger:

Including yourself surely? Didn't you say Danny rose wasn't good enough for us?

If you're gonna troll in hindsight make sure your blood is pure :D

100% bro...i haven't got a scooby doo and I'm proud to admit it !
Pretty sure if you search my post history a bit more you'll find i actually outed myself lol

Fair play to you for keeping up appearances for all this time though, many would've killed their account and opened a new one after being so spectacularly wrong.

Rather than pointing the finger at those high profile posters who were clearly dead wrong on this one, I'll dwell for a second at my own remarkable foresight. :smug:

Well done. I'm content with that. Good price, covers a need in the squad, will hit the ground running, CL experience, youngish player, international captain, PL experience. The most rational (but maybe a bit "boring") deal of the summer.

This also shows that most players that get under Poch's wing, tend to end up being better players. There are exceptions, but not many.

In spite of some of the stellar performances going on around him, I'd be very tempted to name Victor as my player of the season. He's been immense from start to finish.

Wanyama is the symbol of consistency. Can't think of a standout poor performance from him. He's an absolute machine and simply never really looks to be tired. What a signing.

Victor Wanyama Street in Tanzania axed after a day

Tottenham and Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama was honoured in Tanzania on Saturday by having a street named after him in Dar es Salaam.

But the gesture looks to have been short-lived as local websites showed a picture of the street sign being taken away the following day.

A statement from the local Ubungo council said procedures to rename a street had not been observed.

There has been no reaction so far from Wanyama, who turned 26 on Sunday.

The footballer was in Tanzania on holiday and had attended a local tournament in the suburb of Ubungo.

Tottenham signed Wanyama from Southampton last July for $11m on a five-year deal.

BBC Africa football correspondent Stanley Kwenda says that Wanyama is the poster boy of East African football, and that in the absence of a strong national football team from the region he is the face of the game there.
