I believe we were interested in him at one point but I think he has exposed himself this season.

His workrate is quite slack anyway but he really seemed to down tools this year, I do also think last season was a purple patch that he will unlikely ever repeat. If we can, I'd have Lemar over him easily.

Hazard downed tools the season before last, (along with the rest of their team). If we somehow got the chance to buy him, should we have turned it down?

You're comparing Eden Hazard to Riyad Mahrez now?

40-50 million for Mahrez!?! 50 million for van Dijk?!? This is getting more than out of hands.

We have Lamela and I think he is better than Mahrez. So I'd rather see Lamela back next season (really hope he will!) than us splashing insane amount of money for Mahrez.

Many red flags so I err on the side of a no. But there is a part of me that thinks a happy, motivated Mahrez could be a great player.

So if we signed him I would have an element of optimism but believe on the balance of things it would be a bad signing.

Agreed, a fit and healthy Lamela would be worth more to us than Mahrez.

Is it just that one season though? Take out the title winning season and see how he's done.

11/12 - Ligue 2 - 9 Apps - 441 Mins - 0 Goals - 1 Assist
12/13 - Ligue 2 - 34 Apps - 2398 Mins - 4 Goals - 6 Assists
13/14 - Championship - 19 Apps - 2818 Mins - 3 Goals - 5 Assists
14/15 - Prem League - 30 Apps - 2241 Mins - 4 Goals - 3 Assists
16/17 - Prem League - 36 Apps - 3766 Mins - 6 Goals - 4 Assists

Not that impressive to be honest. Not for someone on 100k+ a week.

Another factor I'd look at is for Leicester he has been at his best in a 4-4-2 / 4-4-1-1 which we don't play although accordingly to transfermarkt he is a left footer, which is interesting as he plays on the right for them and didn't realise he played as an inverted winger unless he is also strong on his right?

There's something about Mahrez that screams 'one hit wonder'.

He was very poor this season and it's not as if he's particularly young.

I'd also be very concerned about his work ethic (although I don't know what his stats are in that regard) and I'm not really sure he necessarily offers us the pace that we're clearly looking for.

So for the sort of fee they're looking at...it's a no from me.
I said this last summer and got slated. He is clearly a one season wonder, doesn't have the work rate to succeed with us and is just generally a bit of a dick like the majority of the leicester team

Can't believe anyone wouldn't take him! And those who think he's not a poch player are 100% wrong, his pressing his immense, he scores and creates and POch would turn him into one of the best attackers in the prem. £10-£20m for Mahrez :LOL::LOL: absolutely deluded

So is judging him on one season out of six.

Sigh, am not going to convince you, obviously. Mahrez averaged more interceptions in both 2015-16 ans 2016-17 than Eriksen, Lamela (15-16) and Alli and more tackles than all bar Lamela. To say he doesn't close down or can't do it is bonkers
