Nights like tonight result in me hugging myself in the shower sobbing I want Modric back. Easily the most talented Spurs player I've ever seen (started supporting in the mid 90s so missed Hoddle and Gazza) in my lifetime.

This is interesting, and honest........

italians for real madrid

Former President of Napoli, Corrado Ferlaino: “I am Napoletano and I must support Real Madrid. If Juventus were to win the Champions League, they would take a lot of money that they would use to buy more players and Napoli couldn’t fight for the Scudetto even next year. I’m not Italiano, I’m Napoletano. I don’t care about Juventus, I don’t root for the Piemontesi”

Borja Valero, Fiorentina player: “I’ll support Real Madrid because I grew up with the camiseta blanca and the Bianconeri are the enemies of my Fiorentina”

Giacomo Ciccio Valenti, italian TV and radio conductor, Inter Milan supporter: “How many Juventini fans supported Inter in 2010? Nobody. At Cardiff we’ll return the favor. I already know what shirt will be worn by my son: white, with the words C. Ronaldo”

Paolo Beldì, italian filmmaker, Fiorentina “la viola” supporter: “Who will I root for in the Champions League final between Juventus and Real Madrid? It’s not my fault if Real Madrid will play with the purple jersey…”

Bruno Peres, former player of Torino FC and now playing in Roma: “Juventus is a great team, but we support the failing of the Triplete, so we are happy if they lose”

To be fair, that's expected. I wouldn't support Arsenal in the final.

Me neither. Or Chelsea.

Nor Liverpool, City or United.

Which cracks me up, the commentary teams think the nation is representing - and fans are actually
rooting for - any EPL team when playing in UCL/EL

I always want Arsenal to lose, miserably in a BM style.

For coefficient reasons (which are pretty irrelevant now after the changes UEFA have made) I always wanted the other teams past the group stages, but tonked in the round of 16 or the Quarters.

Now though, fuck it. It'll take such an epic collapse to lose one of the four automatic spots that they can all do one.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Missed Hoddle as well, but most who got to see him place him as our most naturally gifted player ever to put on the shirt, 'like Cryuff with an English surname' was how someone recently described him to me. Modric was outstanding for us, currently the best midfielder in the world, in our current side we would be just stunning.

But you and me are normal people not in the spotlight. These guys are in the public domain and in England at least there is a party line that means you support the English (and British!) teams

Is it me or is playacting like that especially in big finals making it hard to watch football :(? And I love the game . It's embarrassing these are supposed to be grown men

Modric is the only redeeming thing about that hideous club.

I've never ever wished injury on any player, but Sergio Ramos and his type are an absolute stain on the game. If he received a career ender ( but nothing serious enough to affect his long term health obviously ) and had to retire, well, the sport would be better for it.

The annoying thing is, the BT coverage were favouring Real too! Why? Because McManaman played for them? Because Ronaldo played for United? Divs

Marcelo is a fucking machine isn't he? I'd wager only he's better than Rose at the moment. I can't think of anyone else that could replace Rose and improve us other than him.

Modric though. What a player. Can't believe he actually played for us.
