So per Grey Fox: 3-4 signings , 2 youngsters, 1 household name.

Per Dhov: An explosive player to play with / backup to Kane, Walker and Wimmer out (meaning a RB and a CB in).

Trix: Walker most likely first team player leaving, not much chance of anyone else leaving.

Per everyone: Sessegnon close

So in summary, I'm guessing we could be looking at this:

Explosive attacking player (I'm guessing the "household name" will be an attacking player. Lemar? Costa? Not really strikers, though...)
Youngster 1 = Sessegnon
Youngster 2 = some CB as replacement for Wimmer (a young player will be more likely to be ok with a bit part role if Toby, Jan & Dier all stay)
Right Back = ? (no real links besides Alves?)

This is, of course, if everyones info is current and holds up. Big if, I know, but the real conclusion here is that there isn't room for Ross Barkley if we are only looking at 3-4 players. I can live with that.
One RB we have been linked to is Smith so I wouldn't be surprised if we brought him in to replace Walker.

My best interpretation of the ITK we've had so far is Walker out RB in (my guess would be Smith), Wimmer, Vorm and Sissoko out, Lopez in, Sessegnon if we're lucky, a forward if we're lucky and a chance of Barkley.

I reckon we'll sell the players mentioned and we'll bring in 3 including Lopez.

Davies and Rose have generally played just as much in the three seasons they've been in the team together, so I'm not sure Poch truly sees one as a backup for the other.

That would be a very disappointing window, if we signed sessegnon, Lopez and one more! As much as I would be happy with sessegnon, he is unlikely to start ahead of Rose when fit, so we are likely to be left behind by the big clubs! Before anyone starts I know we haven't got their spending power, not saying we should spend silly amounts, but we need to show bit more ambition than a sub keeper, a 17 year old and one other.

If we really want to keep up with Chelsea and City then we need one of the best out there for midfield where we can't depend on Dembele for obvious reasons. I'd say Radja Nainggolan. Would be expensive for someone his age, but would make us a challenger for the coming couple of years. Walker fee could make him feesible, and we are capable of more than doubling his wages within our budget. The experience we need, and someone who can challenge Dembele and cover Wanyama.
Rather spend the money on him than Barkley, think we need something like this to keep up.

Whilst spending for the sake of it wouldn't be the right thing to do, I'd be very disappointed if Barkley were to be our big summer signing.

I hope and predict our big summer signing will be someone we're all disappointed by, someone we think is a bit journeyman or callow, but who turns out, after a bit of coaching by Poch, to be shit hot!

Whatever the outcome I reckon people will still be disappointed with the outcome. The outcome may be Disappointment.

I'm prepared to be underwhelmed this window, transfer fees are skyrocketing and I think we will struggle to keep up with our competitors. Because of that we're going to need a bit of luck.

Having said all this, an underwhelming window isn't the end of the world as the squad we have already is good.

Walker not been a problem from the stuff I have heard. The Sissoko stuff is right, but as for the rest:confused:

The best bit of business we can do this summer is getting rid of Sissoko. Nothing else will come close (other than keeping Walker).

You might have to be prepared to be disappointed in this case then because most of our transfer windows are fairly low key.
We don't really sign top table players certainly not these day's, but what we do is sign potentially good talent polish it up and hope than when someone comes in for them we can flog off for big profit.
Some might not like this policy but unless enic sell up to owners like city or Chelsea have then this is our company policy which we have to stick to.

I'd grab my tin hat and bulletproof pants before A&C reads this if I was you.

It's true that transfer fees are skyrocketing, but we have benefited more than most from more TV money, and we spaffed 30m on Sissoko, so I don't think we'll be left behind.

Just an idea A&C. When this thread goes off track....which it does....often! Why not a small fine. Even say a £1! Bit like a swear box. Sure the coffers will be full in no time . This could be the first fine aha

Oh and I just read what I suspected, and kind of knew. The transfer window doesn't actually open until July 1st. Of course transfers can be arranged and agreed in advance but I doubt most would get announced until at least then in reality. Patience my little munchkins.

Agreed. Personally I'm hoping it's not a cryptic... Berkeley Homes = Barkley is a 'household' name

Other clubs are closing deals and announcing them...
What part do you actually disagree with - the facts? I'd bet you that the contract at the goons hasn't actually come into play yet for example. It actually can't. See below. Or is it my use of the term 'most'

When does the transfer window re-open?
Like every year the summer window officially opens on July 1, but players, agents and clubs will be discussing contract terms and final fees long before then.

There is no major tournament this year, so you can expect transfer talk to fill the back-pages throughout the long summer.

When does the transfer window close?
The transfer window will slam shut on Thursday, August 31 with another frantic window expected. It is due to shut at 23.00pm.
