We are lucky that we are in a position where can actually get used to playing at those dimensions now. The new stadium will be using the Wembley dimensions as that is now UEFA standard. With the old "phasing", we'd be diving right into the new stadium with the bigger pitch straight from the smaller pitch at the Lane. Would be bafflingly stupid and extremely short sighted of the club to change the dimensions at Wembley.
I think also that the smaller pitches are only allowed on a legacy basis anyway. and that if a standard pitch is possible, the you have to have it. Pretty sure I read that somewhere.

No it won't be. They already have training pitches the same size as the maximum PL pitch size and Wembley's is going to be that same size. How is that going to be a disadvantage?

So they just requested a smaller pitch to shits and giggles?

Shit loads of quotes in that article...

Given that the premier league rules are very very clear about pitch sizes, I can think it's safe to say we already knew the pitch would have to be the standard size.

Nothing to stop us rubbing out the white lines and putting down some new ones, there may be a rule about undersized pitches but it doesn't have to be as big as Wembley's.

Although short term it will affect results, long term it will do us good playing a season here. We will need to adapt our game a bit and it'll also give us an edge in future cup ties played at Wembley.

No, the Wembley pitch is normally a metre wider than the PL standard. They asked for a reduction to the PL size.
That article is complete made up rubbish.

Spurs would never have wanted and never asked for the pitch to be changed to OWHL size, as our new pitch will be PL standard.

And if we want to change the Wembley pitch to PL standard (0.5m less wide in either side) we'll be allowed to do that.

Just pure made up rubbish.

I agree. The Wembley pitch is bigger than the PL standard pitch size, and the WHL pitch is one of the smallest in the league. The club, as I understand from what I have read, asked for the pitch to be reduced to the standard PL size, NOT the WHL pitch size.

What you read was made up rubbish. They haven't asked or been told anything.

The media know that were Spots to ask to change the pitch to OWHL size, they would be turned down, so they made up that Spurs had asked that must to create a story.
