Lacazette and Lemar to Arse is really shit news...... they mean business to get back on track and if they keep hold of Sanchez then we know what is coming next year.....!

The new stadium is going to be amazing but Levy has said all along it wont imact our squad strength, we are lucky we have an awesome manager who has done wonders but I fear how long it will last given the money in the league now and everyone strengthening, I think we need to finish out of Europe to really show Levy we need a squad as he seems blind due to our finishes the last 2 years, it wont continue in my mind and then we lose Poch and start all over again

Really depressing, we will end up with Gray or Redmond can see it already

(Lacazette and Lemar will be playing in the two positions Sanchez normally plays in (will he be off?) so maybe they won't be all that strong - can't play em all at the same time).

Anyway, Gray might be a decent development signing for us - with Alli and Son ahead of him. I'm more interested in Right Wing as we are short there with only Sissoko as back up while Lamela is out.

Doubt Poch will be off anytime soon... he's fully signed up to this 'project'.

Lacazette and Lemar to the Scum is profoundly unsettling

It really sucks to be the poor kid...

Keeping our squad together is still key for me but losing key targets to direct rivals is gutting.

I'm assuming Sanchez is leaving which is why Arsenal suddenly have such urgency in the market.

Agree regarding the RW which is why Lemar was desperately needed, I don't see anyone else out there (but I'm not a scout) who is in our price range and wage structure who we could get, especially given Lemar clearly wasn't. We have to stop making silly mistakes (Nkoudou and Njie) last 2 seasons - we need a solid RW. I have a feeling we will sign Pereira and we will play him RW and not RB. Not sure if he can do that but its a cheap option and we all know Levy likes this.

What frustrates me is the ITKs said we would strengthen this summer and learn from our mistakes yet thus far the only rumours are players wanting out and no confirmed ins, may be early days but if we are meant to have learnt from the last 2 summers, we haven't - we have lost the league 2 years on the trot due to our starts to the season and not having a squad ready.

Absolutely fuming today as we seem to be getting somewhere at last as a club yet can really see us falling behind next year

We got embarrassed in Europe last season and albeit a good run still no trophies, if you think missing out on top targets who are going to rival clubs isn't a concern you're foolish

What can you do. Basically trying to sign players who are being offered twice as much money by other clubs.

We finished 2nd in the league, only lost 4 leagues all season, played the most attacking adventurous football in the league.

In my eyes, we were the best team in the league and it was mainly Chelsea's schedule which gave them the advantage.

To buy players to improve our first team is always difficult.

Poch's template during the summer transfer window reads like this. He'll buy one player who will walk into our first team and arguably be our player of the season ie Wanyama and Alderweireld. These are players who we usually buy before preseason,

Buy someone unknown to most and be a good squad player like Wimmer and (at a stretch) Janssen.

Followed buy a complete gambles, that so far hasn't haven't paid off such as N'jie and N'Koudou.

Sissoko was just a mistake, a big mistake.

But with the quality we already have it'll be difficult to get some one who will walk into our first team unless we're prepared to spend big.

I could see us buying Mawson and Sessegnon but don't have a clue who our marquee signing will be now ITK negatively spoken about our chances of getting Lemar.

Mawson and Sessegnon wouldn't be anywhere near enough. I hope the semi final highlighted our weaknesses sufficiently for action to be taken. We are in a weird position where our first XI is arguably the strongest in the league, yet our squad is arguably weaker than any of our rivals

I would have said the idea is to improve our options off the bench, not necessarily the first team.

Poch has made me love football and Spurs more than ever but as each season passes and the gap between the financial power of us and the other top teams only seems to widen, it really does seem inevitable that our current success is on borrowed time.

It's sickening, but thats modern football, we've been lucky to have been removed from it for the last couple of years...

JJ on Lemar:

"Wages"
This is always gonna be the way until we change that cap. We are so lucky that players keep playing for us when they could move and get so much more. So doesn't surprise me when we lose out on players for this reason. Doesn't make it easier but can understand it :(

Which as we saw last season was no where near strong enough once injuries started to hit.

Plenty of time and our first xi is very strong but once again looks like we'll be gambling rather than signing ready made.

Shame we had negative itk about Bruma and he subsequently joined RBL as he has scored some great goals in the under 21's tournament and surely would have been affordable for us.
