In an honest and outspoken interview Tottenham youth graduate and current QPR centre-back Steven Caulker has revealed chairman Daniel Levy once ripped into him on a post-season trip.

“He just said: ‘The way you act is unbelievable. You either sort yourself out or go but I can assure you, if you leave, you’ll be going down, not up,’” told Caulker when relaying the message from Levy as in the interview with the Guardian.

Never mind, saw that someone bumped a thread in Spurs chat. Might as well remove this.

I pity the multi millionaire with his model girlfriend having to work two hours a day. Life must be such a struggle.

Educate yourself about mental health to avoid such stupid, vacuous opinions in future. Happy to provide a few useful links if you're willing to learn.

Bollocks. We all have a sob story. You need to deal with it. Some of my freinds have real mental health problems not functional and are a danger to themselves and others. Caulker is nowhere near in this category.

I'm so sad i gambled all my money away in a casino? Sweet.

I thought about killing myself? Who hasn't?

I've seen shit people have gone through. A mate was brought up in cambodia, forced to join the khmer ruge at the age of 12. The things he went through i wont mention but he doesn't feel sad or sorry for himself. I have seen some of the worst places in the world and what people have to go through including my family. Caulker is far down my list of pity.

You don't understand mental health. You can claim you do, but everything you're saying shows absolutely that you do not understand it. I also suspect from the things you've said in that post that you haven't actually read the Caulker article; the gambling addiction seems to have been more a symptom of his mental health problems than a cause.

Again, I'm happy to provide you with some reading material to show you where you're going wrong if you're interested, it's always good to educate rather than mock. But if you just want to shoot your mouth off with uninformed and more importantly harmful rubbish like you've posted in this thread, I'm equally happy to simply call you out on being an idiot.

A couple of links for anyone who wants to learn more about mental health, or if you're having mental health problems yourself.

If you are struggling with mental health problems and have been put off going to your GP because of scare stories about being fobbed off with pills and put on an endless waiting list for therapy (both of which are broadly true), it's worth knowing that there are a number of online CBT courses which have been proven to be very effective, and can be of huge help while you're waiting for face to face therapy. One I would particularly recommend is Silvercloud:

Suicide is the single biggest killer of men below the age of 40. While we all like a bit of banter, I'm not sure belittling Caulker's struggles is helpful. Yes he's rich, yes he's successful but mental health is a fragile thing. If there is one single person out there that thinks, "Hey if someone like him is suffering too, maybe I'm not alone in thinking like this", and gets help, then that is a positive and should be applauded.

I truly hope he gets the help he needs and returns to the top of his game soon. Remember, he's a Yid and needs to be supported.

I think the lad has courage and this is an honest raw account. I hope he sorts himself out. He deserves to fulfil his potential.

Mental issues aside, it is hard to have a great deal of sympathy with any footballer with a gambling addiction when they are part of an industry that heavily promotes gambling.
I'm glad I don't know what AIA do - probably drown kittens.

Just because other people have it a lot worse in life doesn't mean someone's issues don't matter or that they should just suck it up. I understand where you are coming from but I think mental issues affect people in different ways.

Just because other people have it a lot worse in life doesn't mean someone's issues don't matter or that they should just suck it up. I understand where you are coming from but I think mental issues affect people in different ways.

They also affect people indiscriminately.

No one who is worried and angry and depressed because they're broke and out of work (and mental diseases are far, far different from these logical reactions) feels better because people in Africa are worse off. It just doesn't work that way even in a healthy rational mind, let alone one afflicted by mental illness.

So when someone has more cash, it doesn't in any way protect them against the effects of mental illness any more than it protects them against cancer, even though we on the outside can see that their decline might be more comfortable in some physical ways.

I don't know why anyone would want to withdraw their sympathy Like this. It's rarely a good idea to compare and grade other people's illnesses and misfortunes.

Was there a rumour about one of our youth making lewd comments at Joe Lewis daughter whilst on his yacht?

It seems a shame, and sounds like he's taken on board a few lessons from life.......should bring him back to have a chat with our youth players.

It was someone else who I won't mention. It was not Caulker.

Didn't know where else to put this, but I thought it interesting enough to share:

edit: suppose I might pop it into the youth thread as well.
He is very active on LinkedIn and plugs this often.

His message is always thoughtful and positive. Seems to be really wanting to make a diference.

Great to see
