Has there ever been any confirmation of a sell on fee? I know nobody would have seen the contract with Sheffield United but has this idea come from anywhere we can trust or is it just something that has grown up around this deal?
Did Kyle Naughton have one?

Sheffield United have a 10 per cent sell-on clause inserted into the £9m deal which saw Walker and Kyle Naughton join Spurs.

From the Sky source running the story the fee has been agreed.

5% for Kyle Naughton and 5% for Kyle Walker or 10% for both? That´s the question.

I'm not against it in principle, just that the release clause is a pretty astronomical amount for an unproven player at the top level. Especially for a fullback.
22mill for him isn't that bad when we are supposedly asking for 20mill for Wimmer.

I think its a pretty good deal. I don't think he is going to be able to maintain that pace for much longer, a couple of injuries could help slow him down. I think 2 years is his limit.

Not happy with Walker leaving, but for £50mil, I'm feeling so much better!!

yep we can splash out on an overpriced player or one that has no experience of the strength and pace of the league, while a direct rival enjoy the best right back in the league in the prime of his career. yay for money!

That's still 5% (5% of 4.5 million plus 5% of 4.5 million = 5% of 9 million). It just has to be a straight 10% on each player.

Great idea selling them an England regular and weakening our team. Judging by previous windows I don't hold out much hope of getting a decent replacement in. More jam tomorrow.

I reckon Levy would have chucked 'em a few bob to take the sell-on clause out of the equation. Probably did it years ago when Sheffield United were struggling for cash, like he did with Bale and Southampton (I think he did, might have dreamed it, I take a lot of Peyote)
